Abstract: Presented from an ArtScience practitioner's perspective, this paper provides an overview of Svenja Kratz's experience working as an artist within the area of cell and tissue culture at QUT's Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI). Using The Absence of Alice, a multi-medium exhibition based on the experience of culturing cells, as a case study, the paper gives insight into the artist's approach to working across art and science and how ideas, processes, and languages from each discipline can intermesh and extend the possibilities of each system. The paper also provides an overview of her most recent artwork, The Human Skin Equivalent/Experience Project, which involves the creation of personal jewellery items incorporating human skin equivalent models grown from the artist's skin and participant cells. Referencing this project, and other contemporary bioart works, the value of ArtScience is discussed, focusing in particular on the way in which cross-art-science projects enable an alternative voice to enter into scientific dialogues and have the potential to yield outcomes valuable to both disciplines.

Batteries, as the main or assistant power source of EV (Electric Vehicle), are usually connected in series with high voltage to improve the drivability and energy efficiency. Today, more and more batteries are connected in series with high voltage, if there is any fault in high voltage system (HVS), the consequence is serious and dangerous. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the electric parameters of HVS to ensure the high voltage safety and protect personal safety. In this study, a high voltage safety monitor system is developed to solve this critical issue. Four key electric parameters including precharge, contact resistance, insulation resistance, and remaining capacity are monitored and analyzed based on the equivalent models presented in this study. The high voltage safety controller which integrates the equivalent models and control strategy is developed. By the help of hardware-in-loop system, the equivalent models integrated in the high voltage safety controller are validated, and the online electric parameters monitor strategy is analyzed and discussed. The test results indicate that the high voltage safety monitor system designed in this paper is suitable for EV application.

This study investigated the relationships among managerial leadership, transformational leadership, and performance of school administrators of Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC) through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Covariance-Based SEM (CB-SEM), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with its default Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) were used to test the hypothesized model that managerial leadership covary transformational leadership which were both related to the school administrators’ performance. Results revealed that of the eight alternative models, two equivalent models, one model generates every probability distribution that can be generated by another model, Model B3 and Model D3 were generated, got the smallest Alkaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Bayes Information Criterion (BIC) indicating that both models had relatively better fit. Model B3 and Model D3 have the same degrees of freedom but feature a different configuration of paths among the same variables. However, of the two equivalent models, model B3 was rejected due to discriminant validity concerns while model D3 passed both measurement model and structural model, model D3 was confirmed and retained. As contribution to the fields of education, management and leadership, the researcher confirmed and recommends, through CB-SEM using CFA with its default MLE, the Managerial Leadership and Performance as fully mediated by Transformational Leadership Model.

This research aims to know the interpretation the undefined terms on Hyperbolic geometry and it’s consistence with respect to own axioms of Poincare disk model. This research is a literature study that discusses about Hyperbolic geometry. This study refers to books of Foundation of Geometry second edition by Gerard A. Venema (2012), Euclidean and Non Euclidean Geometry (Development and History)  by Greenberg (1994), Geometry : Euclid and Beyond by Hartshorne (2000) and Euclidean Geometry: A First Course by M. Solomonovich (2010). The steps taken in the study are: (1) reviewing the various references on the topic of Hyperbolic geometry. (2) representing the definitions and theorems on which the Hyperbolic geometry is based. (3) prepare all materials that have been collected in coherence to facilitate the reader in understanding it. This research succeeded in interpret the undefined terms of Hyperbolic geometry on Poincare disk model. The point is coincide point in the Euclid on circle . Then the point onl γ is not an Euclid point. That point interprets the point on infinity. Lines are categoried in two types. The first type is any open diameters of   . The second type is any open arcs of circle. Half-plane in Poincare disk model is formed by Poincare line which divides Poincare field into two parts. The angle in this model is interpreted the same as the angle in Euclid geometry. The distance is interpreted in Poincare disk model defined by the cross-ratio as follows. The definition of distance from  to  is , where  is cross-ratio defined by  . Finally the study also is able to show that axioms of Hyperbolic geometry on the Poincare disk model consistent with respect to associated undefined terms.
