The multi-period repetitive (MPR) control system is a type of servomechanism for periodic reference inputs. Using MPR controllers, transfer functions from the reference input to the output and from the disturbance to the output of the MPR control system have infinite numbers of poles. To specify the input-output characteristic and the disturbance attenuation characteristic easily, Yamada and Takenaga proposed MPR control systems, named simple multi-period repetitive (simple MPR) control systems, where these transfer functions have finite numbers of poles. In addition, Yamada and Takenaga clarified the parameterization of all stabilizing simple MPR controllers. However, using the simple MPR repetitive controller by Yamada and Takenaga, we cannot specify the input-output characteristic and the disturbance attenuation characteristic separately. From the practical point of view, it is desirable to specify the input-output characteristic and the disturbance attenuation characteristic separately. The purpose of this paper is to propose the parameterization of all stabilizing two-degree-of-freedom (TDOF) simple MPR controllers that can specify the input-output characteristic and the disturbance attenuation characteristic separately.

This paper presents a method of designing a state-observer based modified repetitive-control system that provides a given H∞ level of disturbance attenuation for a class of strictly proper linear plants. Since the time delay in a repetitive controller can be treated as a kind of disturbance, we convert the system design problem into a standard state-feedback H∞ control problem for a linear time-invariant system. The Lyapunov functional and the singular-value decomposition of the output matrix are used to derive a linear-matrix-inequality (LMI) based design algorithm for the parameters of the feedback controller and the state-observer. A numerical example demonstrates the validity of the method.

This paper investigates the problems of robust stabilization and robust control for the secondary component speed control system with parameters uncertainty and load disturbance. The aim is to enhance the control performance of hydraulic system based on Common Pressure Rail (CPR). Firstly, a mathematical model is presented to describe the hydraulic control system. Then a novel observer is proposed, and an observed-based control strategy is designed such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and satisfies the disturbance attenuation level. The condition for the existence of the developed controller can by efficiently solved by using the MATLAB software. Finally, simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A nuclear heating reactor (NHR) is a typical integral pressurized water reactor (iPWR) with advanced design features such as an integral primary circuit, self-pressurization, full-power-range natural circulation, and hydraulic control rods. Through adjusting its electric power output according to the variation of demand, NHR power plants can be adopted to stablize the fluctuation of grid frequency caused by the intermittent nature of renewable generation, which is useful for deepening the penetration of renewables. The flexibility of an NHR power plant relies on the automatic generation control (AGC) function of the plant coordination control system, whose central is the AGC law. In this paper, the plant control system with AGC function is designed for NHR plants, where the AGC is realized based on the stabilizers of grid frequency and main steam pressure. Then, the AGC problem is transferred to the disturbance attenuation problem of a second-order dynamic system, and an active disturbance attenuation control (ADRC), which is just the addition of a feedback control given by a proportional‒integral (PI) law and a feedforward control driven by a disturbance observer (DO), is then proposed. Finally, this ADRC is applied to realize the AGC function for NHR-200II reactor power plant, and numerical simulation results show the implementation feasibility and satisfactory performance.
