This paper mainly studies the basic concept of baseband transmission of digital signal and the transmission processof digital signal baseband transmission and how to design digital baseband transmission system with MATLABsoftware simulation. This paper fi rst introduces the theoretical basis of this subject, including digital communication, the composition of digital baseband transmission system and digital baseband signal transmission process. Then thepaper introduced the characteristics of digital baseband transmission system, including digital PAM signal powerdensity and common line pattern, and by comparing choosing the fi nal bipolar zero return code. Then we introducedthe MATLAB simulation software. The conditions of the best reception of the digital baseband signal are describedand how the waveform of the baseband signal is observed by an oscilloscope. Finally, according to the basic stepsof simulation process, the simulation process of digital baseband transmission system is realized by MATLABsimulation tool, and the system is analyzed.

Dissociated neurons were cultured on lines of various lengths covered with adhesive material to obtain an experimental model system of linear signal transmission. The neuronal connectivity in the linear culture is characterized, and it is demonstrated that local spiking activity is relayed by synaptic transmission along the line of neurons to develop into a large-scale population burst. Formally, this can be treated as a one-dimensional information channel. Directional propagation of both spontaneous and stimulated bursts along the line, imaged with the calcium indicator Fluo-4, revealed the existence of two different propagation velocities. Initially, a small number of neighboring neurons fire, leading to a slow, small and presumably asynchronous wave of activity. The signal then spontaneously develops to encompass much larger and further populations, and is characterized by fast propagation of high-amplitude activity, which is presumed to be synchronous. These results are well described by an existing theoretical framework for propagation based on an integrate-and-fire model.

Abstract Natural gas has become one of the major sources of energy for homes, public buildings and businesses, therefore gas storage is particularly important to ensure continuous provision compensating the differences between supply and demand. Stogit, part of Snam group, has been carrying out gas storage activities since early 1960's. Natural gas is usually stored underground, in large storage reservoirs. The gas is injected into the porous rock of depleted reservoirs bringing the reservoir nearby to its original condition. Injected gas can be withdrawn depending on the need. Gas market demands for industries and homes in Italy are mostly guaranteed from those Stogit reservoirs even in periods when imports are in crisis. Typically, from April to October, the gas is injected in these natural reservoirs that are "geologically tested"; while from November to March, gas is extracted from the same reservoirs and pumped into the distribution networks to meet the higher consumer demand.  Thirty-eight (38) wells, across nine (9) depleted fields, are completed with downhole quartz gauges and some of them with fiber-optics gauges. Downhole gauges are installed to continuously measure and record temperature and pressure from multiple reservoirs. The Real Time data system installed for 29 wells is used to collect, transmit and make available downhole data to Stogit (Snam) headquarter office. Data is automatically collected from remote terminal units (RTUs) and transferred over Stogit (Snam) network. The entire system works autonomously and has the capability of being remotely managed from anywhere over the corporate Stogit (Snam) IT network. Historical trends, including fiber optics gauges ones, are visualized and data sets could be retrieved using a fast and user-friendly software that enables data import into interpretation and reservoir modeling software. The use of this data collection and transmission system, versus the traditional manual download, brought timely data delivery to multiple users, coupled with improved personnel safety since land travels were eliminated. The following pages describe the case study, lessons learned, and integrated new practices used to improve the current and future data transmission deployments.

This paper designed an OFDM baseband signal transmission system, which adopted CORDIC algorithm, pipeline organization and high-speed floating-point butterfly unit to complete the customized FFT Processor, and the modulation of the signal was realized by enhancing modulation mode (64-QAM) in the adaptive modulation mode. Meanwhile, due to FPGA technology is reconfigurable and parallel, the signal has a higher transmission rate. The system used FPGA resources reasonably and integrated highly, simplifying the complexity of the system; eventually it was adapted to the EP2C35F672C6 chip of Altera, and can be normally operated in the clock frequency of 100 MHz; At the same time, this system the system has high flexibility and generality, simple structure, and good clutter suppression, so it has a certain application prospects.
