In the framework of the PALETTE European research project, the Swiss federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) is designing and experimenting with eLogbook, a Web-based collaborative environment designed for communities of practice. It enables users to manage joint activities, share related assets and get contextual awareness. In addition to the original Web-based access, an email-based eLogbook interface is developed. The purpose of this lightweight interface is twofold. First, it eases eLogbook access when using smart phones or PDA. Second, it eases eLogbook acceptance for community members hesitating to learn an additional Web environment. Thanks to the proposed interface, members of a community can benefit from the ease of use of an email client combined with the power of an activity and asset management system without burden. The Web-based eLogbook access can be kept for supporting further community evolutions, when participation becomes more regular and activities become more complex. This chapter presents the motivation, the design and the incentives of the emailbased eLogbook interface.

The Department of Accelerated Rural Development in Thailand has undergone major structural reforms according to the direction of National Economic and Social Development Plan 9, which decentralizes government authority into subdistrict levels. The goals for subdistrict level management are to improve the quality of life and the living standard through economic and social development in rural areas. By restructuring the maintenance practice and policy to complement the new orientation of the plan and to enable the proper planning of rural road asset maintenance activities, a systematic rural road asset-management system was implemented to achieve the goal of the subdistrict and central management. A web-based technology was used to provide an easy linkage between the central and the remote offices for both network and project-level management. The organizational barriers, development process, tools and technology, data integration, and benefits of the improved data-management system are discussed. The developed system includes data regarding pavement, bridge, drainage system, traffic sign, pavement marking, and vegetation problems. How web-based information technology can be applied to an asset-management system is discussed. The benefits are measured for productivity, profitability, and rural road user effects.

Kata Kunci: Sistem Informasi, Pengelolaan Aset, ERD, Desain Basis Data Abstract Universitas Galuh is a private university that has 7 faculties, 1 Postgraduate Program, Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), Internal Quality Assurance Agency (BPMI), Library and Cooperation Office. From the many places in Galuh University, it becomes a problem that must be faced in asset management. The management of these assets still relies on the role of human beings who can not do a lot of asset collection. If the person forgets it will be a problem especially related to the type of asset that made the payment and if it is too late will be subject to sanctions or fines. This research is to facilitate in calculating the number of assets and recording the maintenance of these assets. This asset management application will be web-based free by using php and MySql programming languages as its database. The result of this research is a database design that will be implemtasikan on the website that can be accessed by asset managers who will record asset maintenance and also as a reminder of the maintenance of assets located at the University of Galuh. Assets are entities that are tangible or intangible and have economic value. In a company, assets are important, because assets are assets that must be managed properly to provide good benefits also to the company. Companies must be able to keep the value of each company's assets to always be at a high level, avoiding damage so that the value of the asset does not fall in the selling price. With asset management, companies are increasingly eager in planning outgoing expenses to maintain the value of existing assets, monitoring assets that are bought, sold, or otherwise depreciated. Asset management based on this online accounting system, companies get asset data reports, accumulated depreciation of each asset until the asset value is updated or real-time. Any assets that have been added in the system can be archived, edited or deleted. Import feature on this system also facilitate the company in doing penginputan asset data in large quantity. Thus, with the asset management system directly synchronized with the company's financial data, will provide work efficiency in monitoring each company's assets.   Keywords: Asset Management, Real-time, Entities, and Asset Values

The objective of the research summarized in this manuscript is two-fold: to develop and make available a set of novel analysis tools, fully integrated in ArcGIS, that leverages the rich information provided by satellite-based remote sensing data to detect and characterize geohazards of interest to the transportation community; and to provide a modern web-based decision support system (DSS) in which these novel analysis products can be seamlessly integrated with existing datasets. Specifically, interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and its derivatives are employed in this work. Each tool is designed to target a specific asset of interest to the transportation community: sinkhole detection, bridge differential settlement detection, slope stability assessment, and pavement distress evaluation. Furthermore, to allow interested parties to test the introduction of remote sensing data into their decision-making process without requiring the full integration with existing workflows, a modern web-based DSS is introduced. Thanks to the large coverage and the high update frequencies offered by satellite-based remote sensing data, datasets augmented with these new products can offer a near real-time overview of the network status and lead to better support in decisions about resources allocation, existing infrastructure monitoring, new infrastructure planning, and post-construction assessment.

The autonomic composition of Virtual Networks (VNs) and Service Function Chains (SFCs) based on application requirements is significant for complex environments. In this paper, we use graph transformation in order to compose an Extended Virtual Network (EVN) that is based on different requirements, such as locations, low latency, redundancy, and security functions. The EVN can represent physical environment devices and virtual application and network functions. We build a generic Virtual Network Embedding (VNE) framework for transforming an Application Request (AR) to an EVN. Subsequently, we define a set of transformations that reflect preliminary topological, performance, reliability, and security policies. These transformations update the entities and demands of the VN and add SFCs that include the required Virtual Network Functions (VNFs). Additionally, we propose a greedy proactive heuristic for path-independent embedding of the composed SFCs. This heuristic is appropriate for real complex environments, such as industrial networks. Furthermore, we present an Industrail Internet of Things (IIoT) use case that was inspired by Industry 4.0 concepts, in which EVNs for remote asset management are deployed over three levels; manufacturing halls and edge and cloud computing. We also implement the developed methods in Alevin and show exemplary mapping results from our use case. Finally, we evaluate the chain embedding heuristic while using a random topology that is typical for such a use case, and show that it can improve the admission ratio and resource utilization with minimal overhead.
