On January 1, 1994, the day when NAFTA entered into force, a group of indigenous appeared from the Lacandon jungle in Chiapas, occupied the city hall of San Cristóbal de las Casas, presented themselves as the Zapatista Army and announced: “We are the product of 500 years of fighting. […] But today we say: It is enough." This was the beginning of a rebellion which attracted international attention and is still going on today. Taking the announcement seriously, this article traces the history of 500 years from a legal perspective. By considering also the international dimension of this history, it shall be revealed that the reasons for the Zapatista revolt range from the Lacandon jungle through Chiapas, Mexico, Latin America, to the world and its global order. The article will focus on their demand for “land and freedom" which leads to the so-called agrarian question and the long history of bloody disputes about land, means of existence, natural resources, autonomy, sovereignty, power, dominance, oppression, life and death. The history of Mexican land law (sometimes as a legal reflection, sometimes as a result and sometimes as an origin of these disputes) shows with outstanding clarity international structures of hegemony. Foreign influence and legal transfer in accordance with European and U.S. economic interest have been shaping this area of law since colonization. On the other hand, history also gave birth to strong counter-hegemonic movements: the Mexican Revolution at the beginning of the 20th century and today the Zapatista rebellion. The objective of the article is the following: By putting the Zapatista struggle for land in the historical and global context, their “anti-systemic" or “postcolonial" quality shall be revealed. Against this background, the legal analysis of their rebellion shall be used to develop cornerstones of a postcolonial legal perspective. Hence, independent from the chronological order, the theoretical starting point is January 1, 1994. History will be approached as a memory that flashes on this day in the moment of uprising.

The unprecedented global context caused by COVID-19 has generated various changes in society and forced the governments of different countries to adopt containment measures. However, this crisis occurs in a globalized international context, where the mass use of various digital platforms allows the generation of a significant amount of information and the study of interactions between individuals. In this work, in particular, the impact on public opinion about the coronavirus crisis in the city of Bahía Blanca (Argentina) is analyzed from the Twitter digital platform, trying to identify the main actors in the production of messages, find out which users having a greater capacity to control its diffusion and measure the relevance or authority in the interactions analyzed using Social Network Analysis techniques. The main result is the fragmentation of information between individuals, being the resulting interaction scarce. On the other hand, it was found that in the analysis of retweets the main actors are not relevant outside the digital platform, while in the analysis of the responses the main actors are characterized by having a prominent role in the political scene or in communications locally.

Cidade. Recife-PE.Memories, narrative policies and dicotomies of the city: Film Looks on Recife-PE    AbstractThis work analyzes the object of the look at the city of Recife-PE and its spatial and social characteristics from an anthropological and film perspective. The discussion has as its starting point the question of documenting and fictionalizing the city through the film narratives of urban space, as well as how the view of the city can be analyzed through space and film optics. The spatial, imaginary, identity, and aesthetic arrangements present in the urban context are then considered, and the discourse about the central problem of this work is considered: the film-based views constructed from the city of Recife-PE through the film narratives of Pernambucan short films. From this question we start with the contributions of the urban imaginary, memory and identity as elements that constitute the construction of the look for the city. Keywords: Film looks. City. Building a strong and consistent brand personality is crucial to position cities in the global context and a key element to influence potential visitors’ behavior. City brands’ communication endeavors to project consistent messages to position a unique personality in consumer’s mind. However, the variety of target groups that cities aim to attract and the number of stakeholders contributing with their messages to create the city brand makes it more difficult to uphold a single consistent proposition. Thus, brand managers require resources to coordinate and assess the consistency of the city’s personality projected through various sources of information. This study proposes a more accurate measure to assess the city brand projected personality [CBPP] on the websites. It extends the methodological approach proposed by Pitt et al. (2007) by considering two additional variables: the prevalence of the personality traits within the discourse and their link to the brand name. Furthermore, the study tests the CBPP measure to identify the consistency of Barcelona’s projected personality through two different stakeholders’ websites. The empirical study shows the capability of the measures introduced to assess more accurately the personality projected through several sources. The CBPP approach offers managerial implications by which marketers can assess more accurately the projected personality and more easily assess the consistency between different official messages.

In a global context, few studies have investigated the effects of urbanization on apifauna, as well as the importance of green areas in urban centers for the conservation of local bee fauna. In Brazil, this line of research is still quite recent, with most studies carried out in regions with a predominance of the Atlantic Rainforest phytogeographic domain. For the Brazilian state of Bahia, such research is still scarce and, especially, if we consider the large territorial dimension that this state denotes. In the area that covers the Cerrado, few studies have been carried out that inventory the urban apifauna. In this paper we present a list of bee species recorded in urban areas of the city of Barreiras, Bahia, Brazil, which represent the first apifauna inventory in the Western region of Bahia. Specimens were collected fortnightly from November 2019 to April 2020, using two sampling methods: colored water traps (ARCAs/pantraps) and entomological net, in two remnants of vegetation used as sampling points. A total of 749 specimens were sampled, distributed in four families, 18 tribes, 29 genera, and 45 species. A total of 369 (49.3%) specimens were collected using the entomological net and 380 specimens (50.7%) by using the ARCAs. Our results showed that the area with the highest level of urbanization had bioindicator species of degraded environments, which benefit from urbanization, and despite the urban growth, the fragments found in the matrix can serve as a refuge for bee fauna, as long as they are well planned.
