In this paper, we analyzed the current situation of water pollution sources near Macao airport, established a two-dimensional water exchange and water quality mathematical model near the project, and compared and simulated the reclamation schemes of Macao airport. According to the results of water exchange and COD calculation of water quality, the 80 m channel scheme was remarkably better than the 40 m one in terms of water exchange capacity and the possibility of achieving the water quality target. However, with the increase of channel width, the variation of water exchange rate and half exchange period would slow down. There was no significant difference in water exchange rate, water exchange period and water quality distribution between 80m channel and 120 m channel. The final scheme was to adopt the 80 m channel.

Eel, Anguilla bicolor bicolor has an economic value for export commodity. Eel farming has been developed both of home to industries scales. However, the main problem during the glass eel culture is the low survival rate, characterized by high mortality. This condition is related to the culture technique that has not been established yet, especially water quality management. The research aims to determine the best water exchange during the culture of the glass eel on the survival, growth, and blood glucose. The different percentages of water exchange as a treatment were followed A) control (without water exchange); B) 20% of water exchange; C) 40% of water exchange; and D) 60% of water exchange. The water exchange has affected the survival, growth, and blood glucose (P<0.05). The ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate values during the culture period showed that the control was higher compared to the others. The water exchange of 40% is suitable for glass eel stage culture to obtain the best survival and growth.

The biofloc technology can control water quality under negligible water exchange. The aim of this study was to evaluate the  effects of stocking density on production and blood performance of catfish (Clarias gariepinus [Burchell, 1822]). The catfish were reared in biofloc system (heterotrophic bacteria and addition of sugar for a period of 10 wk and used three levels of density i.e. (500, 1 000, and 1 500) fish per m2. The production increased with the increasing of stocking density, relative growth rate decreased with the increasing of that. The stocking density of 1 500 fish per m2 on the biofloc technology can support maximum catfish production, health and proper water quality.
