The study attempts to develop the notion that networking among the teachers can influence the academic achievement of the students in a positive direction along with the smooth implementation of the curriculum at senior secondary level in the schools. In the current study, the syllabus of different subjects of Grade XI and XII has been overviewed and compared with each other on the basis of contents. The curriculum issued by Central Board of Secondary Education, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, Cambridge International Examination and some of the State Boards has been undertaken to review the syllabus of various subjects. It has been found that many topics are similar in the syllabus of two or more subjects. It has also been noticed that the teachers face challenges to complete the syllabus in the allotted numbers of classes throughout the year. If one teacher can teach effectively a topic which is being repeated in the other subject then such networking and coordination can save the time and energy of both the teachers as well as the students which in turn removes the other challenges in routine curriculum.

This paper reviews and analyzes factors contributing to the rise and the fall of football game in Lyari Town. This town has the passion and the talent for football, which should be groomed to produce international players. A model football academy on the pattern of Grêmio (Brazil), Altınordu (Turkey), La Masia (Spain) and INF Clairefontaine (France) is proposed with football- oriented curriculum and international-level-football-training facilities on a green campus. The players are to be inducted at the age of 5 years after rigorous psychological and physical examinations as well as fitness testing. They study and play football here till they pass their Higher Secondary Certificate Examination. Measures are suggested for safety and security at campus as well as use and abuse of controlled substances. A survey was conducted to obtain opinions of footballers, coaches and general public in order to determine causes of decline of football in Lyari. The questionnaire was divided into 3 parts — lack of physical resources, noises influencing football game and shortage of human resources. The responses were indicative of the community‟s strong feeling that Lyarites can become international- standard footballers, if they are given the infrastructure and the facilities combined with motivation to achieve distinction. The proposed football academy should be the first step to change mindset of Lyarities from indulging in drugs and crime to healthy sport activities.

1. The article by Mrs. Linfoot on the “Teaching of Elementary Inequalities” published in the issue of the Mathematical Gazette for July, 1940, raises a matter of considerable interest and importance. It is unhappily the case that the elementary treatment of inequalities remains a weak point in English mathematical teaching. While no Higher School Certificate examination paper in Algebra would be considered complete without the inclusion of questions on identities and equations, yet direct questions on inequalities and in equations occur comparatively rarely and, indeed, even when such questions are included in University Entrance Scholarship examinations, they tend to be ignored by the majority of candidates.

This study assessed the demographic characteristics of students’ performance in Mathematics in senior secondary Certificate Examination in Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State. The purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between gender, location, socio-economic status and students’ performance in Mathematics in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. The ex-post facto research design was used for the study. The population of the study is 15,170 SS3. A sample of 759 students was randomly selected from the total population using simple random sampling technique of balloting and stratified random sampling technique. Four research questions and four hypotheses were raised to guide the study. The instrument used for the study was a 40-item multiple choice senior secondary Mathematics Achievement test (SSMAT). Multiple regressions were used for the analysis. The study established that gender and socio-economic status contributed to students’ performance in Mathematics in senior secondary certificate examination. Recommendation was made based on the findings of the study.
