Avulsion injury is one of the most severe types of traumatic dental injuries. Following avulsion, periodontal ligament tissues are injured and the vessels and nerves of the pulp rupture at the apical foramen which causes pulp necrosis. In studies it was reported that the key to retention of the knocked-out teeth was to maintain the viability of the periodontal ligament. Storage media plays an important role in preserving the viability of PDL cells during extra alveolar time. This article highlights the different storage medias available for avulsed teeth, along with their merits and demerits.

Abstract: Avulsion of the permanent teeth is one of the most serious forms of traumatic dental injuries, which endangers the patients’ quality of life. Therefore, the fast and proper treatment is crucial. In this case report we will discuss the supportive and definitive functional treatment and correct rehabilitation. The traumatic force can cause complex oral and maxillofacial injuries, which comprehensive treatment constitutes a major challenge for the dentist. Traumatic dental injuries can significantly impact the appearance and the functions of the affected teeth and can induce significant damages to the surrounding structures within the oral cavity including both the soft and hard ones. This present literature review aimed to discuss the appropriate orthodontic management of dental traumatic events and to present evidence from previous studies in the literature. The search took place in the relevant databases l, such as PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar to find the relevant articles that have previously discussed the topic to retrieve all the potentially related information that will help to formulate strong evidence. The literature review was focused on the orthodontic management considerations for patients that had dental traumas including crown and crown-root fractures, in addition to intrusion and extrusion luxation injuries. Overall, orthodontists should be able to deal with all the possible traumatic lesions as early as possible to avoid the development of any complications which might affect the prognosis of the affected teeth and the surrounding structures. Moreover, the evidence suggested that aforementioned lesions which was a period of at least three months should be recommended after applying the orthodontic treatment to early screen against any potential complications and maintain stabilization.

Traumatic dental injuries (TDIs) are a public health concern with high prevalence and incidence rates. Proper intervention can significantly reduce the subsequent complications of these events. This case report describes the clinical interventions to manage a patient with traumatized maxillary incisor with severe extrusive luxation. The procedure was aimed at preserving pulp vitality and providing periodontal maintenance to the highest possible degree. Owing to timely and accurate treatments, ten years of success have been achieved in this patient, as discussed in this case report.

Dental trauma is a very frequent occurrence in children and adolescents, which creates a great impact on the esthetics, functions, and phonetics. Traumatic dental injuries can range from simple enamel fractures to permanent tooth loss. This case report presents an eight-year-old patient with an uncomplicated crown fracture of tooth 21, and 30 days after trauma, it was diagnosed as necrotic pulp. The first treatment choice was a regenerative endodontic procedure (REP), however, the failure led to apexification with Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA). The chosen rehabilitation was a composite veneer. Concerning the available literature and fracture enamel dentin, the treatment approach proposed for the case provided good functional and esthetic outcomes.

Tooth loss after traumatic dental injuries (TDI) often requires rehabilitation with a multidisciplinary treatment plan. In growing patients, the therapeutic approach may be different than in adults; the scientific literature offers alternative solutions even if they involve long, complex and uncomfortable treatments. Among the possible therapeutic options, implant-prosthetic treatment through the use of mini-implants is presented in this complex case report with a 14-year follow-up.
