The control of houseflies (Musca domestica L.) in veterinary surveillance premises is an important measure for the welfare of animals against infectious and invasive diseases. For this purpose, the most effective chemical insecticides are used. To prevent possible resistance to them, bait insecticides with two active binary ingredients from different chemical classes are used. The work was carried out in the laboratory of the Tyumen Scientific Center and in the production conditions of ZAO Pyshminskaya Poultry Farm. This material presents the main stages in the development of a prototype of the insecticidal bait Mukhnet AX containing two insecticides: 1.5% acetamiprid and 6% chlorfenapir. For this purpose, adults of houseflies Musca domestica L. 3-5 days old were used. Under laboratory conditions, effective rational doses of the above insecticides were determined by group feeding, feeding and by the method of assessing food insecticidal baits when fighting flies from 0.00002 to 4% concentrations. According to the results of laboratory studies, it was found that the optimal doses causing 100% death of insects were 0.5% for acetamiprid and 2% for chlorfenapir. The insecticidal efficiency of the developed bait Mukhnet AH against flies in production conditions on the first day after the treatment of the livestock building was 91.25%. The insecticidal effect of the measures taken lasted for at least 6 days. The restoration of the number to the previous level of the number of insects occurred after 10 days. Based on the results obtained, the Method of using the composition of an insecticidal bait agent in the fight against Musca domestica was proposed and patented.

The thermophilic fungus Malbranchea pulchella produces a single extracellular, alkaline, serine protease when grown at 45 °C, on 2% casein as sole carbon source. The growth-associated production of protease in submerged cultures was inhibited by addition of glucose, amino acids, or yeast extract. A simple four-step purification which yields homogeneous protease in 78% yield is described. The protease has an isoelectric point of 6.0, a pH optimum of 8.5, and is completely inhibited by serine protease inhibitors. A specificity study with small synthetic ester substrates indicated that the protease preferentially hydrolyzed bonds situated on the carboxyl side of aromatic or apolar amino acid residues which are not β-branched, positively charged or of the D configuration. Peptidase substrates and others such as N-acetyl-L-tyrosine-ethyl ester were not hydrolyzed. The protease was stable over a broad range of pH (6.5–9.5 at 30 °C, 20 h), and was particularly thermostable (t1/2 = 110 min at 73 °C, pH 7.4) in the presence of Ca2+ (10 mM). Macromolecules and Ca2+ also provide protection against the significant autolysis which occurs at pure protease concentrations greater than 0.01 mg/ml, as well as against surface denaturation which is enhanced by the presence of a silicone antifoam agent. Hence the stability of protease in submerged cultures is rationalized.

The results of this study on the loss of live poultry at various stages of delivery from the farm to the processing plant by road are given. A factor analysis of the reasons for the loss of livestock delivered from the farm to the processing plant was carried out. The dependencies of livestock losses on loading delays and the duration of the movement of the loaded poultry farm to the processing plant were established. Methodological recommendations for rationing the number of injuries observed during delivery were developed. The study of losses of live birds during delivery to the processing plant from the density of stocking in shipping boxes was carried out; the economic and mathematical model for optimizing the landing of live birds in shipping boxes was proposed. The calculation of the economic impact of the implementation of the results of the study is given.
