The paper examines the link between strategic management and performance measurement in the public sector. The main hypothesis is that the stages of strategic management development are positively correlated with the number of performance dimensions measured by public organisations. In order to examine the stated hypothesis results from the empirical research conducted in Croatian public administration are being presented. A questionnaire has been sent to 253 central and local organisations and additional interviews have been conducted. The results confirm the hypothesis and determine that the enhancement of strategic planning and management is one of the main stimuli for performance measurement in Croatia.

Strategic management have gained popularity in the public institutions to foster good delivery service to the public. The strategic planning enables organizations to establish a strategic match between the internal competency, resources and external environment. Majority of the successful organizations across the world use strategic management and planning as a tool that enables to optimize the operations and achieve maximum productivity with the resources. This paper reviewed on strategic management for organisations in Abu Dhabi especially for Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) force. It presents three strategic management theories which can be adopted by an organisation. This would help the organisation such as police department to reduce the increasing crime rate and mortality rate in UAE.

The question regarding the future of the accounting profession is being raised more and more often. The most powerful professional accounting organizations are directing all their resources to study the problems of the future of accounting. The issues regard accounting as a whole, the profession, what types of personnel will be needed for business and the public sector, and possible effects of digitalization. It is argued that the role of the professional accountant is undergoing a dramatic transformation, that in the future she will assume the role of a strategic business partner in the organization and must therefore acquire new competencies. The right to strike has been recognised in France, even as a right guaranteed by the Constitution, since 1946. Strikes in the public sector are subject to specific legal regulation, including requirements for minimum notice periods and, in some circumstances, minimum service requirements. This contribution examines these special legal features of public-sector strikes. It is necessary to clarify the respective roles and responsibilities of the management of public enterprises (or administrative authorities) and the government. The article also considers alternative (and new) forms of collective action and agreements. In the future there may well be even greater scope for the regulation of strikes to be covered by collective bargaining.
