This study aims to discover the different techniques teachers use in delivering lessons in an online class. Teachers are still adjusting to the effects of the pandemic on the education system, particularly on the delivery of learning online. It was revealed that educators tend to test various techniques in teaching the learners' competencies. Assessments play a key role in dictating the success of these methods, which is why teachers are seemed to be very cautious in conducting quizzes and exams because these may be prone to cheating since it is online nature. On the other hand, the ongoing internet issues still hound the system here in the country.

This paper discusses the structure of Adult Education programmes and, on the basis of experiential and intuitive considerations, attempts to construct a schema of relationships between the lecture, the didactic presentation of materials, and the former. Consequently, a research agenda has been proposed. The paper concludes that the lecture is not an appropriate and effective instructional method in adult education. However, in certain circumstances, particularly with University Extension Programmes, the lecture may be an effective and expedient approach for conveying information to adults if it is properly used. Finally, adult education training agencies are called upon to intensify the use of group approaches and activity-teaching methods and techniques in their training programmes.

Improved teaching methods facilitate the ease of acquisition of knowledge and lead to better achievement. The present study investigates the instructional methods most commonly used in teaching chemistry in lower secondary schools in Rwanda. SPSS 23.0 was used to analyze data from a survey conducted on 51 lower secondary chemistry teachers. The survey has satisfactory and acceptable reliability (Cronbach alpha=0.913 for 57 items on average). The results revealed that teachers prefer active learning methods though they still use traditional teaching methods. Comparison of teachers’ responses in terms of experience showed no statistically significant difference with p= 0.064. The study also found that some teachers have misconceptions in differentiating instructional approaches, methods, and techniques or strategies. Therefore, it is recommended that educational stakeholders should plan pieces of training to teachers about different instructional methods and techniques to use in chemistry teaching for effective learning outcomes.
