There is a chance that Wikiversity will become the Internet's free university just as Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia on the Internet. The building of an educational entity demands considering a number of philosophical and practical questions such as pedagogy and organization. In this paper we will address some of these, starting by introducing several earlier approaches and ideas related to wikis' potential for education. We continue by presenting three commonly used metaphors of learning: acquisition, participation and knowledge creation. Then we will present the main principles of two existing alternative educational approaches: free adult education and free school movement. To test these educational approaches and practices on Wikiversity and increase our understanding of the possibilities of this initiative, in the spring of 2008 we implemented an experimental course in Wikiversity. We conclude with several recommendations essentially advocating for Wikiversity and the use of wikis in education. However, more than just presenting our opinions, as authors we aim to make an educated - traditionally and in the wiki way - contribution to the international discussion about the future of education for all in the digital era.

The author presents objective data concerning the number, growth, location, staffing patterns, size, and finances of free schools. He then defines four types of free schools: the "classical" free school, the parent-teacher cooperative elementary school, the free high school, and the community elementary school. Distinguishing between pedagogical and political freedom, the author then discusses the varying conceptions of social change associated with each type, with special attention given to socioeconomic factors. The key question framing this analysis is "what role do free schools play—what role can they play—in effecting change in the much larger public school system?"

This study aimed to describe in depth between the link of school policy and the school quality improvement. The method in this study is a qualitative method using the case study presented descriptively. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Babat Tomat Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Based on this study it was found that the First, free school policy can help the economy / ease the burden of school costs to be incurred by the parents. Second, the policy constraints of the application for free school educa-tion at SMAN 2 Babat Toman is not very effective, so that the students' interest is not increasing, infrastructure is one of the obstacles in the implementation of free school education, how the quality of schools will be increased if it is not supported by facilities and complete infrastructure. Third, the quality of school education free SMAN 2 Babat Toman already realized well with regard to input, input turns unselected maximum, that is the students. Fourth, the implementation of free school education in Banyuasin, the quality of school SMAN 2 Babat Toman Muba Sumsel was not increased. This means that the implementation for free school education quality of school SMAN 2 Babat Toman was not increased.Keywords : free schools, school quality, case studies

This paper describes the organizations that were the earliest attempts to establish psychoanalysis formally in Britain. This process of institutionalization occurred between the years 1910 and 1925. Interest flowered at times in the universities and in the progressive school movement. However these seem to have been more ephemeral developments. It was the clinical and professional interest which demanded the first and most long-lasting base. A complex process of interaction between a number of organizations occurred. Their memberships initially intermingled and overlapped until the British Psycho-Analytical Society was consolidated by the mid-1920s.
