When the electrostatic spraying is used correctly, it provides advantages over conventional systems, however many factors can affect the system efficiency. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the charge/mass ratio (Q/M) at different spraying distances (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 m), and the liquid deposition efficiency on the target. Evaluating the Q/M ratio the Faraday cage method was used and to evaluate the liquid deposition efficiency the artificial targets were positioned longitudinally and transversely to the spray jet. It was found that the spraying distance affects the Q/M ratio, consequently, the liquid deposition efficiency. For the closest distance to the target the Q/M ratio was 4.11 mC kg-1, and at distances of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 m, the ratio decreased to 1.38, 0.64, 0.31, 0.17 and 0.005 mC kg-1, respectively. For the liquid deposition, the electrostatic system was affected by the target orientation and spraying distance. The target transversely to the jet of liquid did not improve the liquid deposition, but longitudinally increased the deposition up to 3 meters of distance.

A new method for jerk detection (derivative of acceleration) is proposed. By using a 2 degrees of freedom (DOF) model with viscous coupling, we measure jerk directly as a position change in mass without differential circuit. Analysis by numerical formulas show the principle of the proposed jerk detection and simulation results show suitable parameters such as viscosity, mass ratio, and spring coefficient ratio for jerk detection. We also propose a micro jerk sensor based on the micro electro mechanical system (MEMS). Results of analysis show that the microstructure is suitable for the proposed viscous coupling.

In this paper, we study the self-force in the Parikh–Wilczek tunneling model of Hawking radiation for Reissner–Nordström (RN) black holes. We conclude that the repulsive self-force speeds up the emission and the radiation becomes an irreversible process. We also find an upper bound of charge–mass ratio for emitted particles.

A coating was made by electrostatic spraying of epoxy resin / TiO2 particles for the purpose of suppressing audible noise caused by corona discharge on high-voltage transmission lines. Wetting property of the coating was improved by oxygen plasma treatment. It was found that the coating became more wettable as the increase of TiO2 content during electrostatic spraying process. With respect to the coating for suppression of audible noise from transmission lines, the optimal mass ratio of TiO2 particles (diameter:5-10μm ) to epoxy resin was 30%, and the contact angle was 73°on the epoxy / TiO2 coating surface which could be reduced to less than 5°after oxygen plasma treatment for 20s.

A wealth of data on many aspects of solar cosmic rays has been collected over the last decade. One of the most striking features of these events has been the tremendous variation in many of their characteristics and the related difficulty of precise interpretation. However, one feature of the solar cosmic rays which does seem to be constant from event to event and within an event is the relative abundances of the multicharged nuclei with the same charge: mass ratio. This paper will concentrate on observations of the composition of solar particles and their interpretation. A brief discussion on the propagation of the energetic solar particles including a few comments on the source region will also be given.
