Cytokinins (CKs) and their metabolites and derivatives are essential for cell division, plant growth regulation and development. They are typically found at minute concentrations in plant tissues containing very complicated biological matrices. Therefore, defined standards labelled with stable isotopes are required for precise metabolic profiling and quantification of CKs, as well as in vivo elucidation of CK biosynthesis in various plant species. In this work, 11 [ 15 N]-labelled C6-purine derivatives were prepared, among them 5 aromatic ( 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ) and 3 isoprenoid ( 9, 10, 11 ) CKs. Compared to current methods, optimized syntheses of 6-amino-9H-[ 15 N 5 ]-purine (adenine) and 6-chloro-9H-[ 15 N 4 ]-purine (6-chloropurine) were performed to achieve more effective, selective and generally easier approaches. The chemical identity and purity of prepared compounds were confirmed by physico-chemical analyses (TLC; HRMS; HPLC–MS; 1 H, 13 C, 15 N NMR). The presented approach is applicable for the synthesis of any other desired [ 15 N 4 ]-labelled C6-substituted purine derivatives.

Walnut fruits are used for their nutrition properties for a long time in Anatolia, where seed propagated walnuts are naturally found, as solitary individuals or dense populations. Some relevant physico-chemical and antioxidant characteristics of fruits were determined for fifteen promising walnut (Juglans regia L.) selections (named 'G-1' to 'G-15') propagated from seeds. The well-known Turkish walnut cultivar 'Sebin' was included in the analysis as a standard in order to make comparison with seed propagated genotypes. The average fruit weight and kernel ratios ranged from 7.43 to 12.61 g and 45.10 to 57.83% among the studied genotypes, respectively. The chemical analyses showed that protein, crude oil, ash, carbohydrate and dietary fiber contents of the analyzed walnut genotypes were between 11.09-18.16%, 55.38-65.15%, 1.61-2.08%, 12.01-17.89% and 2.90-4.12%, respectively. Total phenolic content was found between 1,107-1,876 mg GAE/100 g among the genotypes and most of them had higher phenolic content compared with cv. 'Sebin'. The total tocopherols content ranged from 30.0 to 44.4 mg/100 g of the extracted oil. The most common tocopherol in all samples was γ-tocopherol. The results obtained in the hereby study indicated that the seed propagated walnut trees can be very diverse and their nuts have a good potential for valuable sources of phytochemicals.

A description of equipment and tools relative to the sampling of seabed sediments for physicochemical analyses is presented in accordance with the Polish Standard PN-EN ISO 5667-19:2006. The paper reports sampling procedures for various purposes, instructions regarding samples handling, with emphasis on hazardous substances, chemical warfare agents (BST). It also includes information and instructions concerning high level of safety while working at sea, in accordance with international conventions SCTW and SOLAS.

Titanium(IV) complexes of the type [(acac)2Ti(O-G-O] and [(acac)2Ti(OCH2CH2SH)2] {where G = (CH2)2, CH2CH(CH3), CH2CH(C2H5), CH(CH3)CH(CH3) have been synthesized in high yield by the interaction of the precursor [(acac)2Ti( OR)2] {where R = Pri , Et} with a variety of glycols and thioglycols in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios in refluxing benzene under anhydrous condition yield heteroleptic derivatives. On the basis of physico-chemical analyses, a cis-octahedral environment around Ti (IV) is proposed.
