ABSTRACTPlesiomonas shigelloidesis a Gram-negative bacterium isolated from diverse environments. Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of the multidrug-resistantP. shigelloidesstrain MS-17-188, isolated from a diseased catfish. Availability of this genome will be beneficial for characterizing the molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in this strain.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative bacterium that is a major cause of nosocomial infections worldwide. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of TK421, a clinical bacteremia isolate containing a hypervirulence plasmid carrying tra-associated conjugation machinery genes. Emergence of conjugative hypervirulence plasmids could portend rapid dissemination of hypervirulence among multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae strains.

ABSTRACT Rhizobium japonicum is a Gram-negative bacterium of interest for research into nitrogen fixation in legumes. This article describes the isolation, sequencing, and annotation of R. japonicum podophage Pasto. While it shows no significant similarity to identified phages, genomic analysis indicates that Pasto may be temperate and is a novel T7-like podophage.

Escherichia coli is a Gram-negative bacterium often found in animal intestinal tracts. Here, we present the genome of the Guernseyvirinae-like E. coli 4s siphophage Snoke. The 44.4-kb genome contains 81 protein-coding genes, for which 33 functions were predicted. The capsid morphogenesis gene in Snoke contains a large intein.

ABSTRACT Burkholderia gladioli is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with cystic fibrosis infections. Here, we describe the genome sequence of B. gladioli phage Maja. Maja is most related to another Burkholderia phage, BcepF1, and may be a temperate phage, despite the absence of repressor or integrase homologs in its genome sequence.

Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis is a Gram-negative bacterium and one of the most common foodborne pathogens. Biocontrol using bacteriophage in food products or animals is one possible means by which pathogenic salmonellosis infection could be inhibited.

ABSTRACT Edwardsiella ictaluri is a significant pathogen of cultured fish, particularly channel catfish. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of a multidrug-resistant E. ictaluri strain, MS-17-156, isolated from diseased channel catfish. The genome sequence of this multidrug-resistant strain is expected to help us understand the molecular mechanism of antibiotic resistance in this important pathogen.

Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli strain ATCC BAA-196, a model organism used for studying possible antibiotic resistance reversion induced by FS-1, an iodine-containing complex. Two genomes, representing FS-1-treated and negative-control variants and composed of a chromosome and several plasmids, were assembled.

Halomonas meridiana strain Slthf1 (ATCC BAA-801) is a Gram-negative bacterium that was isolated from a thermal vent in 1998. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of this strain, which has a 3.6-Mbp genome, containing 3,400 protein-coding sequences.
