ABSTRACT The complete genome sequence of Staphylococcus succinus 14BME20, isolated from a Korean fermented soybean food and selected as a possible starter culture candidate, was determined. Comparative genome analysis with S. succinus CSM-77 from a Triassic salt mine revealed the presence of strain-specific genes for lipid degradation in strain 14BME20.

ABSTRACT In the present work, we report the complete genome sequence of Bacillus velezensis DKU_NT_04, isolated from cheonggukjang, which is a traditional Korean fermented soybean paste. The final genome assembly consists of a 4.328-Mbp chromosome with 4,134 coding sequences and a G+C content of 45.21%.

Plasmid-mediated polymyxin resistance encoded by mcr-1 has increased public health concerns due to the potential for rapid horizontal transfer. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of colistin-resistant Escherichia coli Antibiotic Resistance Isolate Bank number 0346, harboring a plasmid-borne mcr-1 gene.

ABSTRACT The complete genome of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Kottbus strain Kharkiv (serogroup C2-C3), which was isolated from a commercial pork production facility in Kharkiv, Ukraine, was assembled using long-read Nanopore sequences. A single circular contig (4,799,045 bp) comprised a complete chromosome encoding antibiotic resistance, highlighting the risk of cross-species livestock and human infection.

ABSTRACT Edwardsiella ictaluri is a significant pathogen of cultured fish, particularly channel catfish. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of a multidrug-resistant E. ictaluri strain, MS-17-156, isolated from diseased channel catfish. The genome sequence of this multidrug-resistant strain is expected to help us understand the molecular mechanism of antibiotic resistance in this important pathogen.

Acinetobacter junii INC8271 was isolated from a cancer patient with polymicrobial bacteremia after biliary stent placement. The complete genome sequence consisted of a chromosome of 3,530,883 bp (GC content, 38.56%) with 3,377 genes, including those encoding 74 tRNAs and 18 rRNAs, and two intact prophage sequences. No antibiotic resistance genes were detected.

Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli strain ATCC BAA-196, a model organism used for studying possible antibiotic resistance reversion induced by FS-1, an iodine-containing complex. Two genomes, representing FS-1-treated and negative-control variants and composed of a chromosome and several plasmids, were assembled.
