The order Sulfolobales includes thermoacidophilic archaea that thrive in acidic geothermal environments. A novel Sulfolobales archaeon strain, HS-7, which may represent a novel genus, was isolated from an acidic hot spring in Japan. We report the 2.15-Mb complete genome sequence of strain HS-7.

Rubrobacter xylanophilus strain AA3-22, belonging to the phylum Actinobacteria, was isolated from nonvolcanic Arima Onsen (hot spring) in Japan. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of this organism, which was obtained by combining Oxford Nanopore long-read and Illumina short-read sequencing data.

Hydrogenophilus spp., which are moderately thermophilic aerobic betaproteobacteria, are widely distributed in geothermal environments. They fix carbon dioxide via the Calvin-Benson-Bassham cycle and exhibit rapid autotrophic growth using hydrogen as an energy source.

Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of Caldicellulosiruptor changbaiensis, isolated from a hot spring in the Changbai Mountain Range of China. Currently, only one other genome sequence representing a Caldicellulosiruptor species from China is available.

ABSTRACT We isolated Thermus thermophilus strain HB5018 from Mine Hot Spring in Japan, where the type strain HB8 was isolated nearly half a century ago. The complete genome sequence of HB5018 showed 99.1% average nucleotide identity with HB8, suggesting strict species conservation in the habitat over the past 50 years.
