Rhodotorula mucilaginosa is an opportunistic fungal pathogen of public health importance. We present the draft genome sequence of an isolate (Rhodo3571) cultured from an immunocompetent patient. The isolate is similar to other R. mucilaginosa genomes in the NCBI database. Presented here are the genome assembly and its comparison to other reference genomes.

ABSTRACT The opportunistic fungal pathogen Scedosporium boydii is the most common Scedosporium species in French patients with cystic fibrosis. Here we present the first genome report for S. boydii, providing a resource which may enable the elucidation of the pathogenic mechanisms in this species.

Taphrina betulina is the ascomycete yeast that causes the formation of witches’ brooms in birch trees. Here, we report the first draft genome sequence of T. betulina, from strain UCD315, isolated from soil in Ireland. The genome is haploid and 12.5 Mb long.

ABSTRACTAureobasidium pullulansAY4 is an opportunistic pathogen that was isolated from the skin of an immunocompromised patient. We present here the draft genome of strain AY4, which reveals an abundance of genes relevant to bioindustrial applications, including biocontrol and biodegradation. Putative genes responsible for the pathogenicity of strain AY4 were also identified.

ABSTRACT Burkholderia cepacia complex (Bcc) bacteria are opportunistic pathogens with high transmissibility and mortality. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a Bcc strain isolated from a deep abscess culture in an immunocompetent patient with no relevant prior medical history.

ABSTRACT This paper reports the first draft genome sequence for a strain of Nocardia cerradoensis obtained from an immunocompetent patient with a knee infection. The 8.2-Mb genome has 8,329 coding sequences, including intrinsic resistance genes, biosynthetic gene clusters for polyketide synthase and nonribosomal peptide synthase, virulence genes, and prophages.

Candida auris is an emerging pathogen of considerable public health importance. We present the draft genome sequence of a strain recently cultured from the urine of a patient hospitalized in the greater Houston metropolitan region. Two combined Oxford Nanopore sequencing runs provided sufficient data to rapidly generate a draft genome.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Pseudorhodobacter sp. strain E13, a Gram-negative, aerobic, nonflagellated, and rod-shaped bacterium which was isolated from the Yellow Sea in South Korea. The assembled genome sequence is 3,878,578 bp long with 3,646 protein-coding sequences in 159 contigs.

ABSTRACT Vibrio harveyi is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with vibriosis in penaeid shrimp. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a V. harveyi strain isolated from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during a vibriosis outbreak. The availability of this genome will aid future studies of vibriosis in shrimp aquaculture.
