We report the complete genome assembly of Yersinia pestis subsp. pestis bv. Medievalis SCPM-O-B-6530, a strain belonging to the most ancient phylogenetic group (group 2.MED0) of Y. pestis subsp. pestis bv. Medievalis. This proline-dependent strain, carrying an additional plasmid (pCKF), was isolated from the Central-Caucasian high-mountain plague focus in Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Russia.

Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, closely related to Yersinia pestis, is a human pathogen and model organism for studying bacterial pathogenesis. To aid in genomic analysis and understanding bacterial virulence, we sequenced and assembled the complete genome of the human pathogen Yersinia pseudotuberculosis IP2666pIB1.

ABSTRACT Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease that affects both humans and animals. Its distribution is global, concentrated in the Mediterranean area, India, Central Asia, and Latin America. Here, we present a complete genome assembly of 10 Brucella abortus strains isolated from water buffaloes farmed in the Campania region of Italy.

ABSTRACT In the present work, we report the complete genome sequence of Bacillus velezensis DKU_NT_04, isolated from cheonggukjang, which is a traditional Korean fermented soybean paste. The final genome assembly consists of a 4.328-Mbp chromosome with 4,134 coding sequences and a G+C content of 45.21%.

ABSTRACT The first complete genome assembly of buffalopox virus isolate Karachi 2005, with a length of 195,630 bp, is presented here. Phylogenetic analysis shows the virus to cluster within Vaccinia species, and the genome contains 177 protein-coding sequences.

ABSTRACT Bursaphelenchus okinawaensis is a self-fertilizing, hermaphroditic, fungus-feeding nematode used as a laboratory model for the genus Bursaphelenchus, which includes the important pathogen Bursaphelenchus xylophilus. Here, we report the nearly complete genome sequence of B. okinawaensis. The 70-Mbp assembly contained six scaffolds (>11 Mbp each) with telomere repeats on their ends, indicating complete chromosomes.

Myxococcus xanthus is a Gram-negative social bacterium belonging to the order Myxococcales of the class Deltaproteobacteria . It is a facultative social predator found in soils across the globe and is thought to be crucial for the microbial ecosystem. Here, we report a complete high-quality reference genome of the M. xanthus strain DZ2.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a Swedish clinical strain of Yersinia enterocolitica, Y72. With emerging Yersinia outbreaks circulating in Nordic countries, the Y72 genome will provide more insights on the genetic relatedness and antibiotic resistance dissemination in future studies.

Here, we describe the complete genome assembly of a Bacillus mycoides isolate collected from a boreal forest soil associated with permafrost thaw. Using only long-read Nanopore sequences and VolTRAX library preparation, we assembled two circular contigs totaling 5,789,722 bp (N 50, 5,306,036), a complete chromosome with one plasmid.

ABSTRACT Leishmania tarentolae is a protozoan parasite of lizards and is nonpathogenic to mammals. Genome information for the nonpathogenic species will facilitate an understanding of the pathology caused by species pathogenic to mammals. Here, we report resequencing of the L. tarentolae genome with a single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencer to provide a more complete genome assembly.
