An unclassified Enterobacter strain was isolated from the pitcher fluids of a Sarracenia rosea pitcher plant growing at Splinter Hill Bog in Alabama. Its genome was sequenced using the Illumina platform. A genome assembly of 4,673,815 bp was obtained. In total, 4,646 protein-encoding sequences and 72 RNA genes are predicted from this assembly.

Increasing antimicrobial resistance and limited alternative treatments have led to fluoroquinolone-resistant Shigella strain inclusion on the WHO global priority pathogens list. In this study we characterized multiple Shigella isolates from Malawi with whole genome sequence analysis, identifying the acquirable fluoroquinolone resistance determinant qnrS1.

Xanthobacter tagetidis is a thiophene-degrading bacterium associated with root balls of the plant genus Tagetes, which includes marigolds. It is a Gram-negative facultatively autotrophic bacterium with pleomorphic morphology exhibiting bent and branching rods. From strain TagT2CT (= ATCC 700314T), we report a genome assembly of 4,945,221 bp and a 69.5% G+C content.

ABSTRACT The genome of the intimin (eae)-harboring Escherichia albertii strain MBT-EA1, isolated from lettuce in Germany, was sequenced. Sequence analysis showed the assembled draft genome size to be 4,560,948 bp, containing a predicted total of 4,414 protein-encoding genes, 11 rRNAs, and 82 tRNAs. Furthermore, three plasmid sequences were found.

ABSTRACT The genome sequence of Rhizobium sophoriradicis H4, a nitrogen-fixing bacterium isolated from the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) in Peru, is reported here. The genome assembly revealed a 6.44-Mbp genome which was distributed into 95 contigs, with N 50 and L 50 values of 293 kbp and 9, respectively. The genome contained 6,312 coding sequence (CDS) genes and 52 RNA genes (49 tRNAs and 3 rRNAs).

ABSTRACT Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) with serotype O157:H7 is a major foodborne pathogen. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of EHEC O157:H7 strain MC2 isolated from cattle in France. The assembly contains 5,400,376 bp that encoded 5,914 predicted genes (5,805 protein-encoding genes and 109 RNA genes).

We report here a genome sequence for Rhodococcus sp. isolate UM008 isolated from the renal/interrenal tissue of the winter skate Leucoraja ocellata . Genome sequence analysis suggests that Rhodococcus bacteria may act in a novel mutualistic relationship with their elasmobranch host, serving as biocatalysts in the steroidogenic pathway of 1α-hydroxycorticosterone.

We present the genome sequence of Staphylococcus aureus strain CBS2016-05, which was isolated from contaminated platelet concentrates by Canadian Blood Services in 2016. This strain caused a septic reaction in an acute leukemia patient. Genome sequence analysis revealed the presence of one chromosome (2,766,936 bp) and one plasmid (36,441 bp).
