Here, we report the complete genome sequence of strain NMC 61 of Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis, which was previously isolated from conveyor belts during chicken slaughter and has the potential to form biofilms on several surfaces. The genome is predicted to contain 110 noncoding small RNAs on the chromosome.

Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis is a Gram-negative bacterium and one of the most common foodborne pathogens. Biocontrol using bacteriophage in food products or animals is one possible means by which pathogenic salmonellosis infection could be inhibited.

Bacteriophages infecting Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis may be used as biocontrol agents in food products or animals for preventing foodborne diseases caused by this pathogen. The complete genome sequence of phage Seafire, a T5-like siphophage infecting S. Enteritidis, is described in this report.

We present here the complete genome sequence of Lactococcus lactis strain 14B4, isolated from almond drupes in northern California. This strain was observed to inhibit the growth of Salmonella enterica serotype Poona strain RM3363 in vitro.

Salmonella enterica serovar Fresno is an infrequently isolated serovar whose ecology and genomic characteristics have not yet been described. To further understand the genomic characteristics of this serovar, we sequenced the complete genome of a single isolate recovered from a bovine lymph node at harvest.

Bacteriophage Siskin is a member of the χ-like siphovirus phage cluster that infects Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strain LT2. Here, we report the complete 58,476-bp sequence of the Siskin genome, provide confirmation of its genomic termini, and describe a potentially new class of holins and endolysins found in the lysis cassette.

ABSTRACT Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium is a Gram-negative pathogen and a primary cause of foodborne illnesses worldwide. Here, we present the complete 47,393-bp genome sequence of the siphophage Skate, which was isolated against S. Typhimurium strain LT2.

Escherichia coli serotype O157:H7 strain 20R2R is a derivative of clinical isolate PA20. Prophage excision from the coding region of a PA20 transcription factor restored RpoS-dependent biofilm formation in 20R2R, providing a model for O157:H7 stress adaptation when transitioning between clinical and environmental settings. We report here the complete 20R2R genome sequence.

ABSTRACT The complete genome of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Kottbus strain Kharkiv (serogroup C2-C3), which was isolated from a commercial pork production facility in Kharkiv, Ukraine, was assembled using long-read Nanopore sequences. A single circular contig (4,799,045 bp) comprised a complete chromosome encoding antibiotic resistance, highlighting the risk of cross-species livestock and human infection.
