ABSTRACT Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis ODA 99‐30581‐13 is a relatively heat-resistant strain isolated from shell eggs. The strain has a 4,777,965-bp genome sequence (52.1% GC content) that was predicted to encode 4,455 proteins, including heat stress response proteins and stress response regulators; these may be involved in its heat resistance.

ABSTRACT Salmonella enterica serovar Livingstone 1236H was isolated originally from peanut butter and represents a health risk in low-moisture foods. The current work presents the strain’s genome sequencing results, which show a 4,824,729-bp genome sequence and 4,435 protein coding sequences, including some that are involved in adaptation to low-moisture environments.

Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis causes the highest incidence of human salmonellosis infections. Here, we describe the whole-genome sequence and annotation of Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis strain 1145s, isolated in Nigeria. The strain has a genome of 4.57 Mb with a GC content of 52% and contains one plasmid.

Lactobacillus fermentum Lf2, an Argentine cheese isolate, can produce high concentrations of exopolysaccharides (EPS). These EPS were shown to improve the texture and rheology of yogurt, as well as to play a protective role in mice exposed to Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium.

This study reports the draft genome sequence of the endophytic Streptomyces cavourensis strain YBQ59, produces the antibiotics bafilomycin D, nonactic acid, prelactone B, and 5,11-epoxy-10-cadinanol. The draft genome sequence comprises ∼10.2 Mb, with a GC content of 64% and 8,958 predicted protein-coding genes, of which 14 gene clusters were found to associate with antibiotic biosynthetic pathways.

ABSTRACT Aphanizomenon flos-aquae is a significant harmful algal bloom-forming cyanobacterial species. Here, we report the draft genome for a strain of A. flos-aquae (Clear-A1) from a harmful algal bloom enrichment culture. This metagenome-assembled genome (MAG) sequence comprises 4,452,466 bp in 60 contigs with a GC content of 37.1%.

ABSTRACT The novel strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus OSU-PECh-69 was isolated from provolone cheese. It produces antimicrobial agents having a molecular mass of 5 to 10 kDa that are active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The strain has a genome sequence of 3,057,669 bp, a GC content of 46.6%, and up to two gene clusters encoding bacteriocins.

ABSTRACT We present the draft genome sequence of Psychrobacter okhotskensis strain 5179-1A, which was isolated from a raw cured ham storage crate. Its size and GC content are 3.4 Mb and 43.4%, respectively. The 16S rRNA sequences of strain 5179-1A and P. okhotskensis MD17T are 100% identical.
