The process of the e−e+ pair photoproduction in a strong magnetic field through the polarization cascade (the creation of an e−e+ pair from a single photon and its subsequent annihilation to a single photon) has been considered. The kinematics of the process is analyzed, and the expression for the general amplitude is obtained. A radiation correction to the process of pair creation at the lowest Landau levels by a single photon is found in the case where the energy of this photon is close to the threshold value. A comparison with the process of e−e+ pair production by one photon is made.

The process of electron–positron pair production by axion propagating in an external magnetic field is investigated in a model with only induced axion coupling to leptons. Contributions of the lowest and higher Landau levels are analyzed. The results we have obtained demonstrate a strong catalyzing influence of the field.

Pulsar may be regarded as a discharge tube by electron-positron pair creation. On this viewpoint we carry out two numerical calculations. The obtained magnetic field is consistent with the flow. We find that pulsars emit their rotational energy through three modes simultaneously. The three modes are (1)relativistic acceleration and following gamma-ray emission in the closed current circuit in the magnetosphere, (2)wind of the electron-positron pair plasma, and (3)dipole radiation.
