The standard model of particle physics is a well-tested theoretical framework, but there are still some issues that deserve experimental and theoretical investigation. The Ξ resonances with strangeness S=−2, the so-called doubly-strange hyperon, can provide important information to further test the standard model by studying their electromagnetic form factors, such as probing the limitation of the quark models and spotting unrevealed aspects of the QCD description of the structure of hadron resonances. In this work, we review some recent studies of the electromagnetic form factors on doubly-strange hyperons in pair production from positron–electron annihilation experiment.

Abstract We study the possibility of measuring neutrino Yukawa couplings in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with right-handed neutrinos (NMSSMr) when the lightest right-handed sneutrino is the Dark Matter (DM) candidate, by exploiting a ‘dijet + dilepton + Missing Transverse Energy’ (MET or "Image missing") signature. We show that, contrary to the miminal realisation of Supersymmetry (SUSY), the MSSM, wherein the DM candidate is typically a much heavier (fermionic) neutralino state, this extended model of SUSY offers one with a much lighter (bosonic) state as DM that can then be produced at the next generation of e+e− colliders with energies up to 500 GeV or so. The ensuing signal, energing from chargino pair production and subsequent decay, is extremely pure so it also affords one with the possibility of extracting the Yukawa parameters of the (s)neutrino sector. Altogether, our results serve the purpose of motivating searches for light DM signals at such machines, where the DM candidate can have a mass around the Electro-Weak (EW) scale.

The adiabatic effects of electron-positron pair-production on the dynamical instability of very-massive stars is investigated from stellar progenitors of carbon-oxygen cores within the range of 64 M < MCO < 133 M  both with and without rotation. At a very high temperature and relatively low density; the production of electron-positron pairs in the centres of massive stars leads the adiabatic index to below 4/3. The adiabatic quantities are evaluated by constructing a model into a thermodynamically consistent electron-positron equation of state (EoS) table. It is observed that the adiabatic indices in the instability regions of the rotating models are fundamentally positive with central temperature and density. Similarly, the mass of the oxygen core within the instability region has accelerated the adiabatic indices in order to compress the star, while the mass loss and adiabatic index in the non-rotating model exponentially decay. In the rotating models, a small amount of heat is required to increase the central temperature for the end fate of the massive stars. The dynamic of most of the adiabatic quantities show a similar pattern for all the rotating models. The non-rotating model may not be suitable for inducing the instability. Many adiabatic quantities have shown great effects on the dynamical instability of the massive stars due to electron-positron pair-production in their centres. The results of this work would be useful for better understanding of the end fate of very-massive stars.

Abstract Kinematic reconstruction of top quarks allows to define a set of kinematic observables relevant to various physics processes that involve top quarks and provides an additional handle for the suppression of background events. Radiation of photons in association with the top quarks alters the kinematics and the topology of the event, leading to visible systematic effects in measurable observables. The present study introduces an improved reconstruction of the top quark kinematics in the presence of photon radiation. The results are presented for processes with top quark pair production, as well as for singly-produced top quarks.
