A new technology of monitoring and control of solid waste, based on the reception and processing of the Earth remote sensing data with different spatial resolution and spectral resolution is proposed. The technology is based on the processing of multispectral and hyperspectral images from space in special software products, the identification and analysis of solid waste from small (suburban, road clutter) to large (industrial and urban landfills), depending on the spatial and spectral resolution of the space image. At present, software complexes for processing (deciphering) of space images of solid domestic waste and their adjacent territories have been developed. With the help of these software complexes, it became possible to identify unauthorized landfills, to determine the correctness of operation of existing landfills in accordance with existing regulatory documents, to determine the sequence of liquidation of various landfills, depending on the degree of their negative impact on the environment and human health. The introduction of the proposed technology can provide substantial assistance to various ministries, departments and the public in detecting at an early stage the places of clutter, the so-called pre-landfills, which, if not to take preventive measures, can become real garbage dumps with all the ensuing environmental problems. It is important that schools and universities, for which this work will be attractive both in terms of planning and implementation of research activities, education of young people with an active life position in terms of ecology and environmental protection, be included in the implementation of the "Space Ecological Watch" project. It should be borne in mind that SHW landfills are basically "the reactors" in which various physical-chemical reactions (combustion, oxidation, etc.) are rapidly occurring; besides SWLs are of considerable interest for educational and research processes both in secondary and higher schools. Moreover, many parameters of these physical-chemical reactions in the time-mode, close to the real one, can be controlled by methods of remote sensing of the Earth from space. We propose to organize the International Competition "Space Environmental Watch" with the participation of students and schoolchildren from different countries of the world. This Competition will be based on the technology described above, will have the following nominations: - identification of unauthorized landfills; - landfills Information validity check; - assessment of the impact of solid waste landfills on the environment. According to the results of the competition, a digital map with identified unauthorized garbage dumps and an assessment of their impact on the environment can be made on the Internet.

Abstract: In recent years many new and modern buildings have emerged in Yogyakarta, on the other hand the existence of kampongs and the natural environment continues to decline, including local wisdom in managing the environment is increasingly abandoned. Kampung Gampingan as a "kampung kota" in the city of Yogyakarta, located on the riverside of the Winongo River. Kampong administrators and it’s citizen Gampingan cooperate to manage and maintain the quality of the kampong environment. For them, the aspect of environmental conservation is very important and considered because it aims to maintain harmonious relationships between humans and the natural environment. The purpose of this paper is to explore information about environmental management in kampong Gampingan, which involves citizens and consider the impact on the natural environment. The results show that community participation, partnerships with various parties (other communities, universities, government and private), and the role of facilitators are very important in the management of kampong based on local wisdom. Community participation is the key to the success or failure of kampong management based on local wisdom.

Bandung provides a variety of tourist attractions, such as culinary arts, theme parks, and shopping destination. The city is developed into a city of technology or technopolis which is located in the southern part region, called Gede Bage. Thus, to maintain the natural environment in the technology-based development area, the city also encouraging eco-tourism activities. Hence, the purpose of this study is to identify the concept of eco-tourism in accommodating the impact of technopolis development. The approach adopted in this study was comprehensive policy analysis approach that examined the norms imposed in developing the city and tourism. The norms consist of regulation, strategies, planning documents, law and other related policies. The results show that the existing facilities at technopolis area are potentials to be developed as eco-tourism attraction. Furthermore, competent human resources have played as an important role to succeed the Bandung Technopolis area as eco tourism attraction.

Abstract The impact of urban development on the natural environment creates unique challenges for architects and the need to seek a change in design strategies by building green and sustainable buildings. Designing and displaying green elements such as roofs and walls becomes an important element in this sense. Greenery plays a very crucial role in the city space. Green roofs and walls are the missing link between the built environment and the natural environment. They can complement urban greenery. This paper aims to show the possibilities of green roofs and walls solutions in the city, their aspects and impact on the environment and people. The research method is based on the analysis of selected existing objects with greenery solutions and showing their role in creating a sustainable city. The analysis shows that the green roofs and walls offers many environmental, social and economic benefits. They have the ability to improve the microclimate and increase air humidity. Thus, they affect the health and well-being of the city's inhabitants. This technology should be considered a valuable part of the design process to tackle climate change and the energy crisis. Green roofs and facades are passive techniques and provide benefits in reducing the energy requirements of buildings, among other things, but also play a role in shaping a better visual aspect of the city. In the 21st century, people are slowly beginning to realize the advantages of green architecture, which is considered a new perspective also for the urban heat island problem. Thus, the living roofs and walls are of major importance as part of a sustainable strategy for the urban environment. Sustainable cities will exist when society makes an informed choice to move towards a more sustainable lifestyle. The green roofs and walls these are the solution for the future, for better quality of life.
