The Cooper instability in a Fermi gas is examined using the perturbative diagram approach. A graphical functional derivative technique based on Ward's identity is developed to obtain two-particle interactions and then to calculate the vertex part. The pairing instability for a given interaction, such as a phonon (plasmon, etc.) field, occurs in a quiescent Fermi sea, i.e. without exciting or involving background particles (holes), only if the interaction is attractive, as first proposed by Cooper and adopted in the BCS (Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer) theory. The consequence from this technique provides a way to evaluate the effect of the vertex corrections and responses of the Fermi gas in both charge and spin channels incorporating the backward scattering process. The significance of the methodology presented in the present work lies in the fact that it can both reproduce the known results, and, more importantly, be extended to investigate the intermediate or strong coupling case, such as nuclear interactions, where a neglect of vertex corrections may not be a good approximation.

The phase structures of one-dimensional quantum sine-Gordon–Thirring model with N-impurities coupling are studied in this paper. The effective actions at finite temperature are derived by means of the perturbation and non-perturbation functional integrals method. The stability of coexistence phase is analyzed respectively in the weak and strong coupling case. It is shown that the coexistence phase is not stable when fermions have an attractive potential g < 0, and the stable coexistence phase can form when fermions have an exclude potential g > 0.

We analytically study quantum dissipative dynamics described by the Caldirola-Kanai model with inter-particle interactions. We have found that the dissipative quantum dynamics of the Caldirola-Kanai model can be exactly mapped to a dissipationless quantum dynamics under a negative external harmonic potential, even when the particles are strongly interacting. In particular, we show that the mapping is valid for the unitary Fermi gas, which is relevant for cold atoms and nuclear matters.

We introduce and solve a model which considers two coupled networks growing simultaneously. The dynamics of the networks is governed by the new arrival of network elements (nodes) making preferential attachments to pre-existing nodes in both networks. The model segregates the links in the networks as intra-links, cross-links and mix-links. The corresponding degree distributions of these links are found to be power-laws with exponents having coupled parameters for intra- and cross-links. In the weak coupling case, the model reduces to a simple citation network. As for the strong coupling, it mimics the mechanism of the web of human sexual contacts.

Here we propose a method of constructing a second order approximation for ground state energy for a class of model Hamiltonian with linear type interaction on bose operators in the strong coupling case. For the application of the above method we have considered polaron model and propose constructing a set of nonlinear differential equations for definition ground state energy in the strong coupling case. We have considered also radial symmetry case.
