Let [Formula: see text] be the infinite semigroup, inductive limit of the increasing sequence of the semigroups [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is the unitary group of matrices and [Formula: see text] is the semigroup of positive hermitian matrices. The main purpose of this work is twofold. First, we give a complete classification of spherical functions defined on [Formula: see text], by following a general approach introduced by Olshanski and Vershik.10 Second, we prove an integral representation for functions of positive-type analog to the Bochner–Godement theorem, and a Lévy–Khinchin formula for functions of negative type defined on [Formula: see text].

Abstract Let A be an AI algebra; that is, A is the C*-algebra inductive limit of a sequencewhere are [0, 1], kn, and [n, i] are positive integers. Suppose that A has the ideal property: each closed two-sided ideal of A is generated by the projections inside the ideal, as a closed two-sided ideal. In this article, we give a complete classification of AI algebras with the ideal property.

Let [Formula: see text] be an AF algebra, [Formula: see text] be a compact group. We consider inductive limit actions of the form [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is an action on the finite-dimensional C*-algebra [Formula: see text] which fixes each matrix summand. We give a complete classification up to conjugacy of such actions using twisted equivariant K-theory.

Let $G$ be an orthogonal, symplectic or unitary group over a non-archimedean local field of odd residual characteristic. This paper concerns the study of the “wild part” of an irreducible smooth representation of $G$, encoded in its “semisimple character”. We prove two fundamental results concerning them, which are crucial steps toward a complete classification of the cuspidal representations of $G$. First we introduce a geometric combinatorial condition under which we prove an “intertwining implies conjugacy” theorem for semisimple characters, both in $G$ and in the ambient general linear group. Second, we prove a Skolem–Noether theorem for the action of $G$ on its Lie algebra; more precisely, two semisimple elements of the Lie algebra of $G$ which have the same characteristic polynomial must be conjugate under an element of $G$ if there are corresponding semisimple strata which are intertwined by an element of $G$.

Abstract We give a complete classification of dynamical invariants in 3d and 4d Higher Spin Gravity models, with some comments on arbitrary d. These include holographic correlation functions, interaction vertices, on-shell actions, conserved currents, surface charges, and some others. Surprisingly, there are a good many conserved p-form currents with various p. The last fact, being in tension with ‘no nontrivial conserved currents in quantum gravity’ and similar statements, gives an indication of hidden integrability of the models. Our results rely on a systematic computation of Hochschild, cyclic, and Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology for the corresponding higher spin algebras. A new invariant in Chern-Simons theory with the Weyl algebra as gauge algebra is also presented.

We provide a strong condition holding for nil-clean quadratic elements in any ring. In particular, our result implies that every nil-clean involution in a ring is unipotent. As a consequence, we give a complete classification of weakly nil-clean rings introduced recently in [Breaz, Danchev and Zhou, Rings in which every element is either a sum or a difference of a nilpotent and an idempotent, J. Algebra Appl. 15 (2016) 1650148, doi: 10.1142/S0219498816501486].

In this paper, we present a complete classification of Bianchi type II spacetime according to Ricci inheritance collineations (RICs). The RICs are classified considering cases when the Ricci tensor is both degenerate as well as non-degenerate. In case of non-degenerate Ricci tensor, it is found that Bianchi type II spacetime admits 4-, 5-, 6- or 7-dimensional Lie algebra of RICs. In the case when the Ricci tensor is degenerate, majority cases give rise to infinitely many RICs, while remaining cases admit finite RICs given by 4, 5 or 6.

AbstractIn this paper the authors study quotients of the product of elliptic curves by a rigid diagonal action of a finite group G. It is shown that only for $$G = {{\,\mathrm{He}\,}}(3), {\mathbb {Z}}_3^2$$ G = He ( 3 ) , Z 3 2 , and only for dimension $$\ge 4$$ ≥ 4 such an action can be free. A complete classification of the singular quotients in dimension 3 and the smooth quotients in dimension 4 is given. For the other finite groups a strong structure theorem for rigid quotients is proven.
