We investigate the well-posedness in the generalized Hartree equation [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], for low powers of nonlinearity, [Formula: see text]. We establish the local well-posedness for a class of data in weighted Sobolev spaces, following ideas of Cazenave and Naumkin, Local existence, global existence, and scattering for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, Comm. Contemp. Math. 19(2) (2017) 1650038. This crucially relies on the boundedness of the Riesz transform in weighted Lebesgue spaces. As a consequence, we obtain a class of data that exists globally, moreover, scatters in positive time. Furthermore, in the focusing case in the [Formula: see text]-supercritical setting we obtain a subset of locally well-posed data with positive energy, which blows up in finite time.

We study the generalized Hartree equation, which is a nonlinear Schrödinger-type equation with a nonlocal potential [Formula: see text]. We establish the local well-posedness at the nonconserved critical regularity [Formula: see text] for [Formula: see text], which also includes the energy-supercritical regime [Formula: see text] (thus, complementing the work in [A. K. Arora and S. Roudenko, Global behavior of solutions to the focusing generalized Hartree equation, Michigan Math J., forthcoming], where we obtained the [Formula: see text] well-posedness in the intercritical regime together with classification of solutions under the mass–energy threshold). We next extend the local theory to global: for small data we obtain global in time existence and for initial data with positive energy and certain size of variance we show the finite time blow-up (blow-up criterion). In the intercritical setting the criterion produces blow-up solutions with the initial values above the mass–energy threshold. We conclude with examples showing currently known thresholds for global vs. finite time behavior.

This paper is concerned with the fractional quasigeostrophic equation with modified dissipativity. We prove the local existence of solutions in Sobolev spaces for the general initial data and the global existence for the small initial data when1/2≤α<1.

In this paper we give a review of the recent progress on the focusing generalized Hartree equation, which is a nonlinear Schrodinger-type equation with the nonlocal nonlinearity, expressed as a convolution with the Riesz potential. We describe the local well-posedness in H1 and Hs settings, discuss the extension to the global existence and scattering, or finite time blow-up. We point out different techniques used to obtain the above results, and then show the numerical investigations of the stable blow-up in the L2 -critical setting. We finish by showing known analytical results about the stable blow-up dynamics in the L2 -critical setting.

Abstract This paper is devoted to investigating the boundedness, continuity and compactness for variation operators of singular integrals and their commutators on Morrey spaces and Besov spaces. More precisely, we establish the boundedness for the variation operators of singular integrals with rough kernels Ω ∈ Lq (S n−1) (q > 1) and their commutators on Morrey spaces as well as the compactness for the above commutators on Lebesgue spaces and Morrey spaces. In addition, we present a criterion on the boundedness and continuity for a class of variation operators of singular integrals and their commutators on Besov spaces. As applications, we obtain the boundedness and continuity for the variation operators of Hilbert transform, Hermit Riesz transform, Riesz transforms and rough singular integrals as well as their commutators on Besov spaces.

AbstractIn this paper we establish the well-posedness of the Muskat problem with surface tension and equal viscosities in the subcritical Sobolev spaces $$W^s_p(\mathbb {R})$$ W p s ( R ) , where $${p\in (1,2]}$$ p ∈ ( 1 , 2 ] and $${s\in (1+1/p,2)}$$ s ∈ ( 1 + 1 / p , 2 ) . This is achieved by showing that the mathematical model can be formulated as a quasilinear parabolic evolution problem in $$W^{\overline{s}-2}_p(\mathbb {R})$$ W p s ¯ - 2 ( R ) , where $${\overline{s}\in (1+1/p,s)}$$ s ¯ ∈ ( 1 + 1 / p , s ) . Moreover, we prove that the solutions become instantly smooth and we provide a criterion for the global existence of solutions.

We study the low-regularity properties of the Kawahara equation on the half line. We obtain the local existence, uniqueness, and continuity of the solution. Moreover, We obtain that the nonlinear terms of the solution are smoother than the initial data.

This paper is concerned with the mathematical analysis of terminal value problems (TVP) for a stochastic nonclassical diffusion equation, where the source is assumed to be driven by classical and fractional Brownian motions (fBms). Our two problems are to study in the sense of well-posedness and ill-posedness meanings. Here, a TVP is a problem of determining the statistical properties of the initial data from the final time data. In the case [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is the fractional order of a Laplace operator, we show that these are well-posed under certain assumptions. We state a definition of ill-posedness and obtain the ill-posedness results for the problems when [Formula: see text]. The major analysis tools in this paper are based on properties of stochastic integrals with respect to the fBm.

AbstractIn a previous paper, we proved that the 1-d periodic fractional Schrödinger equation with cubic nonlinearity is locally well-posed inHsfors> 1 −α/2 and globally well-posed fors> 10α− 1/12. In this paper we define an invariant probability measureμonHsfors<α− 1/2, so that for any ∊ > 0 there is a set Ω ⊂Hssuch thatμ(Ωc) <∊and the equation is globally well-posed for initial data in Ω. We see that this fills the gap between the local well-posedness and the global well-posedness range in an almost sure sense forin an almost sure sense.
