The Λ(1520) photoproduction from proton target is investigated within the effective Lagrangian method and well compared with the experimental data. The D13 state N(2120) plays the most important role among the nucleon resonances. Besides N(2120), a nucleon resonance [Formula: see text] predicted by the constituent quark model is found also important to reproduce the experimental data. Other nucleon resonances give negligible contributions in the channel considered in this work.

Recent studies on the newly observed resonance [Formula: see text] with a compact structure in a chiral SU(3) constituent quark model are briefly reported. the overall properties, including the mass, the partial decay widths in various decay modes, and the total width, comparing with the experimental data, show that a compact hexaquark dominated structure might be a reasonable interpretation for this state. Moreover, the charge distribution of [Formula: see text] is also discussed.

The charmonium mass spectrum is considered in the framework of the constituent quark model with the relativistic treatment of the c quark. The obtained masses are in good agreement with the existing experimental data including the mass of ηc(2S).

A brief overview of strangeness physics with the CLAS detector at JLab is given, mainly covering the domain of nucleon resonances. Several excited states predicted by the symmetric constituent quark model may have significant couplings to the KΛ or KΣ channels. We will discuss data that are relevant in the search for such states in the strangeness channel, and give an outlook on the future prospects of the N * program at JLab with electromagnetic probes.

The mechanism of K* vector meson photoproduction off the proton target, γp → K*+Λ, is deeply studied by using an effective Lagrangian method. Based on the (t,s,u)-channel Born diagrams, we included higher resonance terms, i.e., S11(2090) and G17(2190), along with the D13(2080) and D15(2200), which are already considered in a previous theoretical analysis. The total and differential cross section are computed and we obtain quite precise results in comparison with the recent CLAS data.

Using high precision numerical method based on Gaussian expansion method for few-body systems, we studied the spectra of possible exotic meson states composed of [Formula: see text] (Q = c, b, and q = u, d, s) in non-relativistic constituent quark model. Some newly released experimental data by the BES, Belle, BaBar Collaboration can be interpreted in our calculation. Several possible exotic states are also predicted.
