Combining the successful applications in AI, in this paper, an expert system is studied and designed for evaluating the safety of hydraulic metal structures, whose goal is compute the reliability of hydraulic metal structures. Applying the techniques of AI, a framework is made up for evaluating the safety of hydraulic metal structures. The framework of knowledge base system is designed and presented with the domain knowledge. Based on the theory of relational database, the conceptual and logical views of database system are designed and analysed. Additionally, method base system is designed. A practical example is given to illustrate the process of using this system. This system has features of practical and advanced and expand.

Recently, overuse of steroids and immunosuppressive drugs has produced incurable dermatological health problems. Traditional medical approaches have been studied for alternative solutions. However, accessing relevant information is difficult given the differences in information for western medicine (WM) and traditional medicine (TM). Therefore, an integrated medical information infrastructure must be utilized to bridge western and traditional treatments. In this study, WM and TM information was collected based on literature searches and information from internet databases on dermatological issues. Additionally, definitions for unified terminology and disease categorization based on individual cases were generated. Also a searchable database system was established that may be a possible model system for integrating both WM and TM medical information on dermatological conditions. Such a system will yield benefits for researchers and facilitate the best possible medical solutions for patients. The DIMI is freely available online.

Expert systems (ES) and database systems (DBS) are major components of information systems and important assets to companies. The development of these systems represent users' knowledge in the application systems. As computer technologies evolve, and as users requirements change, there is a need to upgrade these system to meet the new application requirements. To preserve the knowledge of the existing information systems, a methodology for integrating ES and DBS into an expert database system (EDS) is proposed. The integrated EDS is a knowledge based system (KBS) which derives and stores knowledge in a frame model consisting of a class header, attributes, methods and constraints. It extracts the ES rules and DBS data for an application into coupling classes at run time only. The attributes of the coupling classes are matched with synonyms in a synonym table which resolves their naming and semantic conflicts with user assistance in knowledge acquisition. The resultant EDS is a KBS ready for application development.

In this research, a knowledge-based system with a function module in manufacturing processing is used to recommend machining algorithms and to provide a cost analysis for manufacturers and clients. In each manufacturing segment, metal processing plants will be able to upload an engineering drawing into a machine information database system. Machine processing capability for management work is then analyzed via Siemens PLM Software NX. The result of the analysis includes axes of movement, mass, volume, accuracy, surface roughness, geometric features and other information uploaded into the database system. Users select the recommended machine specification requirements and establish a postprocessor. This research aims to improve the customized manufacturing and manufacturing capabilities of metal processing companies in order to quickly respond to the target date and to integrate the three technical keywords “Selecting machine system”, “Cost estimation” and “Machine recommendation algorithms”.
