The static balancing of mechanical systems is an important issue because it allows one to significantly decrease the size of actuators for equivalent displacements of the end effector. Indeed, the actuators do not have to produce the required input energy to counterbalance the variation of the potential energy of the robot. However, the literature review shows that in many cases the gravity balancing of mechanical systems is carried out by neglecting the masses of auxiliary links associated with the principal mechanism. For many balancing schemes, it is a source of errors. This paper deals with an improved solution for gravity compensators based on the inverted slider-crank mechanism considering the masses of the coupler and the spring. To achieve this, the torques are determined due to auxiliary links. Subsequently, they are introduced into the balancing equation for minimization of the residual unbalance. Hence, a more accurate balancing of gravity compensators based on the inverted slider-crank mechanism can be achieved. The efficiency of the suggested approach is illustrated by numerical simulations.

An improved design for a combination Scanning Tunnelling Microscope/TEM specimen holder is presented. It is based on earlier versions which have been used to test the usefulness of such a device. As with the earlier versions, this holder is meant to replace the standard double-tilt specimen holder of an unmodified Philips 400T TEM. It allows the sample to be imaged simultaneously by both the STM and the TEM when the TEM is operated in the reflection mode (see figure 1).The resolution of a STM is determined by its tip radii as well as its stability. This places strict limitations on the mechanical stability of the tip with respect to the sample. In this STM the piezoelectric tube scanner is rigidly mounted inside the endcap of the STM holder. The tip coarse approach to the sample (z-direction) is provided by an Inchworm which is located outside the TEM vacuum.

The article discusses the basic principles of the implementation of the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy model. The article summarizes the existing problems that require solutions to create new jobs, increase economic growth, and create a balance between the economy, environment and population. The authors present examples of building a circular economy model in foreign countries. The importance of the tasks of implementing and promoting the circular economy was revealed, thanks to the involvement of all participants in the society in this process and the motivation for companies and investors. Effective tools for moving society towards a resource-efficient closed-cycle economy, increasing energy efficiency, energy conservation and reducing the energy intensity of the gross domestic product, due to the entry into a competitive level of renewable energy sources are investigated. The introduction of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in automated accounting of resource consumption, as well as the improvement of accounting rules will create opportunities for the end user to manage resource consumption taking into account the principles of a circular economy. The authors' study emphasizes that circular economy products and services should minimize resource use and promote reuse, recovery and recycling of materials in the future, leveraging existing product policy instruments, further support for the repair sector, improved design for reuse, and high-quality packaging recycling. The authors in the article propose to legislate the subsidizing of enterprises participating in the circular chain and subsidizing innovative developments in the field of the circular economy in the Russian Federation.
