More and more scholars are committed to light detection and ranging (LiDAR) as a roadside sensor to obtain traffic flow data. Filtering and clustering are common methods to extract pedestrians and vehicles from point clouds. This kind of method ignores the impact of environmental information on traffic. The segmentation process is a crucial part of detailed scene understanding, which could be especially helpful for locating, recognizing, and classifying objects in certain scenarios. However, there are few studies on the segmentation of low-channel (16 channels in this paper) roadside 3D LiDAR. This paper presents a novel segmentation (slice-based) method for point clouds of roadside LiDAR. The proposed method can be divided into two parts: the instance segmentation part and semantic segmentation part. The part of the instance segmentation of point cloud is based on the regional growth method, and we proposed a seed point generation method for low-channel LiDAR data. Furthermore, we optimized the instance segmentation effect under occlusion. The part of semantic segmentation of a point cloud is realized by classifying and labeling the objects obtained by instance segmentation. For labeling static objects, we represented and classified a certain object through the related features derived from its slices. For labeling moving objects, we proposed a recurrent neural network (RNN)-based model, of which the accuracy could be up to 98.7%. The result implies that the slice-based method can obtain a good segmentation effect and the slice has good potential for point cloud segmentation.

In transportation at open-pit mines, rocks dropped as a mining truck is driven will wear out the tires of the vehicle, thus increasing the mining cost. In the case of autonomous vehicles, the vehicle must automatically detect rocks on the transportation roads during the driving process. This will be a new challenge: rough road, rocks of small size and irregular shape, long detection distance, etc. This paper presents a detection method based on light detection and ranging (lidar). It includes two stages: (1) using the modified cloth simulation method to filter out the ground points; (2) using the regional growth method based on grid division to cluster non-ground points. Experimental results show that the method can detect rocks with a size of 20–30 cm at a distance of 40 m in front of the vehicle, and it takes only 0.3 s on an ordinary personal computer (PC). This method is easy to understand, and it has fewer parameters to be adjusted. Therefore, it is a better method for detecting small, irregular obstacles on a low-speed, unstructured and rough road.

Molecular sieves with beta zeolite topology are promising catalysts for various reactions as they exhibits extraordinary Lewis acidity. However, their industrial application and related research in academica is hindered because their synthesis is time consuming and typically involves toxic chemicals as hydrofluoric acid. Therefore, tetraethylammonium fluorid was tested as a non-toxic fluotide source for the synthesis of beta zeolites. In combination with the previously reported nano-seeded growth method, a fast synthesis of beta zeolites only involving non-toxic chemicals was possible. Synthesized zeolites show comparable selectivity in the Bayer-Villinger oxidation as conventional zeolites synthesized with hydrofluoric acid.<br>

Kata kunci: Pengelolaan, SWOT IFAS-EFAS, WilayahABSTRACTPort was supporting facility of regional growth center in the process of regional economic development. Sabang free port was directed as the center of regional economic growth and expected to raise the economy of sabang. Problems faced by sabang free port was yet optimal role and function in supporting the economy of the region. This study aimed to determine the role of sabang free port in supporting the economic development of sabang. The covered material scope included roles of sabang free port, determining the potentials and problems and efforts of increasing the role of sabang free port. The method of analysis was descriptive analysis with qualitative and quantitative approach. The analytical tool used was the swot ifas-efas analysis. The analysis results showed in the period of 4 (four) years from 2010 until 2013, sabang free port was not optimal in carrying out its role yet, so it requires development strategies with agressive maintenance strategy approach, which is internal consolidation strategy by improving vulnerability factors to maximize the utilization of opportunities. Keywords:, Management, Regional, SWOT IFAS-EFAS
