The complete crystal structure of N-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)pyrido[3′,2′:4,5]thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-amine, synthesized via a Dimroth rearrangement and designed as new inhibitor of CLK1 and DYRK1A kinases, was established by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal is orthorhombic, space group Pca21; a = 13.1593  (9), b = 13.9823  (10), c=8.5403  (7) Å, α=β=γ=90°, V = 1571.4  (2)  Å3, and Z=4, C17H14N4O2S. Solid-state data could be used to enlighten the biological mechanism of action.

Abstractβ-Y(BO2)3 was synthesized in a Walker-type multianvil module at 5.9 GPa/1000°C. The crystal structure has been elucidated through single-crystal X-ray diffraction. β-Y(BO2)3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma (no. 62) with the lattice parameters a=15.886(2), b=7.3860(6), and c=12.2119(9) Å. Its crystal structure will be discussed in the context of the isotypic lanthanide borates β-Ln(BO2)3 (Ln=Nd, Sm, Gd–Lu).

By electrochemical oxidation of [B6H6]2- in the presence of nitrite ions and of the base DBU in dichlorom ethane solution the μ-nitroso-bis(pentahydrohexaborate) [B6H5(NO)B6H5]3- ion is formed and can be isolated by ion exchange chromatography on diethylaminoethyl cellulose. The crystal structure of the Cs salt has been determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Cs3[B6H5(NO)B6H5] is orthorhombic, space group Pnma with a = 16.2303(13), b = 12.245(6), c = 25.444(2) Å. The unit cell contains three crystallographically independent anions with nearly C2v symmetry but differently distorted B6 cages

Exclusive, high-yield formation of the cyclotrimers of ethynylferrocene (1) was observed when TaCl5 in benzene was employed as catalyst. Analysis of the resulting isomer mixture by means of HPLC and 1H NMR revealed the presence of 1,3,5-triferrocenylbenzene (sym-2) and 1,2,4-triferrocenylbenzene (asym-2) in the ratio of 4 : 6. A small amount of pure sym-2 isomer was isolated, and its solid-state structure was established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The molecules of sym-2 possess a distorted up-up-down arrangement of the ferrocenyl groups attached to the benzene ring.

The crystal structure of strontium diarsenate has been reinvestigated from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. In contrast to the previous determinations of this structure [Weilet al.(2009).Solid State Sci.11, 2111–2117; Edhokkaret al.(2012).Mater. Sci. Eng.,28, 012017] and to all isotypicA2B2O7compounds that crystallize in the space groupP41, the current redetermination revealed theP43enantiomorph of Sr2As2O7with a purity of 96.3 (8)%. The crystal structure is made up from two eclipsed As2O7diarsenate groups (symmetry 1) with characteristically longer As—O bridging bonds [1.756 (4)–1.781 (4) Å] than the terminal As—O bonds [1.636 (4)–1.679 (4) Å] and four Sr2+sites with coordination numbers ranging from seven to nine. The building units are arranged in sheets parallel to (001).

Abstract The crystal structure of calcium azide dihydrate trans-bicyclo-[4.4.0]-1,4,6.9-tetraazadecane has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction at 100 K. [Ca(N3)2(H2O)2 (C6H14N4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma, Z = 4. with a - 1396.6(5), b = 1407.1(5), c = 712.2(2) pm. Calcium is hexacoordinated to four azide groups and two water molecules. The elongated octahedra are linked via μ(1,3)-bridging azide ions to form monolayers parallel to the ac-plane. The C6H14N4 molecules are arranged between these layers.

Abstract Single crystals of acetyltetralone grown from a solution containing a small amount of Cu(II) ions are studied by ESR. The corresponding g, 63Cu magnetic and quadrupolar hyperfine tensors are obtained and are consistent with the trapping of a square planar copper(II) complex. X-ray diffraction shows that pure acetyltetralone crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca (a - 8.893 Å, b = 20.301 Å, c = 10.715 Å). Comparison of the ESR eigenvectors with the bond directions obtained from this crystal structure study shows that the Cu(II) complex experiences some constraint from the crystal matrix. The present complex is a model for one of the complexation sites of tetracyclines.

The crystal structure of [(η4-C8H12)PdBr2] has been determined by a single crystal X-ray diffraction with R = 3.82% for 2 147 independent diffractions. The compound crystallizes with the symmetry of orthorhombic space group P212121 (No. 19) within the following parameters: a = 7.0785(5) Å, b = 11.1896(9) Å, c = 12.514(1) Å, V = 991.2(1) Å3, Z = 4. The square planar arrangement of ligands around Pd(II) is distorted due to the steric requirements of 1,5-cyclooctadiene in a twisted boat conformation. Formula units are joined by the weak C2-H2...Br1(1 + x, y, z) hydrogen bonds.

meso–meso Directly-linked trimeric and pentameric porphyrin–hexaphyrin hybrid arrays 5 and 6 comprising of electron-deficient porphyrin units were prepared by cross-condensation of monomeric and dimeric electron-deficient meso-formyl porphyrins with a tripyrrane. The solid-state structures of 5 and 6 have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The latter is the largest crystal structure of meso–meso linked multiporphyrinic array analogues reported to date.

A new potassium molybdenum oxide, K6Mo10O33, was synthesized by solid state reaction from the appropriate quantities of pre-dried MoO3 and K2MoO4, fired at around 650 °C for 2 d. The structure has been solved by using single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound adopts the space group P1, with the lattice constants a = 7.7100(5), b = 11.9659(8), c = 17.1321(12) A° , α = 86.42 (10), β = 77.18(10), γ = 74.14(10)°. The structure is built up of infinite chains of edge-sharing MoO6 octahedra and groups of four MoO6 octahedra forming Mo4O17 units. These sub-units are connected together by common vertices.
