According to the asynchronous transmission of data for the SINS/WSN integrated positioning system, this paper proposes a novel asynchronous data fusion method using Unscented Kalman Filter for SINS/WSN integrated positioning system based on indoor mobile target. The state equation of the integrated system is built with the motion characteristic of mobile target. The pseudo measurement equation is built based on the time sequence of SINS/WSN measured value through detecting the measurement of WSN in every fusion period. Considering that the improved state-space model, comprised of the state equation and pseudo measurement equation, is the nonlinear equations, the Unscented Kalman Filter is applied to estimate the state value of the state-space model. Hence the asynchronous data fusion method for SINS/WSN integrated positioning system can be achieved. Simulation results and experimental tests show that the positioning system with proposed asynchronous data fusion algorithm performs feasibility and stability under circumstances of the asynchronous time, and it is superior to the traditional asynchronous data fusion and synchronous data fusion methods.

Displacement is the most intuitive reflection of the comprehensive behavior of concrete dams, especially the time effect displacement, which is a key index for the evaluation of the structural behavior and health status of a dam in long-term service. The main purpose of this paper is to establish a state space model for separating causal components from the measured dam displacement. This approach is conducted by initially proposing two equations, which are the state and observation equations, and model parameters are then optimized by the Kalman filter algorithm. The state equation is derived according to the creep deformation of dam concrete and foundation rock and is used to preliminarily predict the dam time effect displacement. Considering the generally recognized three components of dam displacement, the hydraulic-seasonal-time (HST) model is used to establish the observation equation, which is used to update the time effect displacement. The efficiency and rationality of the established state space model is verified by an engineering example. The results show that the hydraulic component separated by the state space model only contains the instantaneous elastic hydraulic deformation, while the hysteretic elastic hydraulic deformation is divided into the time effect component. The inverted elastic modulus of dam body concrete is an instantaneous value for the state space model but a comprehensive reflection of the instantaneous and hysteretic elastic deformation ability for the HST model, where the hysteretic elastic deformation is a part of the hydraulic component. For the Xiaowan arch dam, the inverted values are 42.9 and 36.7 GPa for the state space model and HST model, respectively. The proposed state space model is useful to improve the interpretation ability of the separated displacement components of concrete dams.

Estimation of the center of gravity (CG) is the basis for intelligent control of the front-and-rear-axis-independent electric driving wheel loaders (FREWLs). This paper presents a novel real-time method for estimating the CG of FREWLs, which is suitable for driving and spading conditions on bumpy roads. A FREWL dynamical model is proposed to set up the state-space model. The CG estimator is used to estimate the longitudinal tire force using the state-space model and the improved square-root unscented Kalman filter (ISR-UKF) algorithm. The simulation and experimental results indicate that this method is suitable for FREWL dynamics and operational characteristics, and the estimated value of CG basically converges to the reference value. Finally, the probable reasons for error occurring in two experiments and the practical challenges of this method are discussed. The research in this paper establishes a partial theoretical basis for intelligent control of construction machinery.

Based on the vibration mechanics theory and system’s state equation, the state-space model of the flange bolted-joints structure is established. According to the dynamic characteristics of bolted connection, the parameters of the state-space model, such as rigidity and damping, can be identified. The accuracy of simulation model is validated, by comparing the simulation analysis results with the vibration test results, and an efficient method of recognition or fault diagnosis of bolted joints in vibratory environment is proposed.

Abstract The modeling of counter-current leaching plant (CCLP) in Koryo Extract Production is presented in this paper. Koryo medicine is a natural physic to be used for a diet and the medical care. The counter-current leaching method is mainly used for producing Koryo medicine. The purpose of the modeling in the previous works is to indicate the concentration distributions, and not to describe the model for the process control. In literature, there are no nearly the papers for modeling CCLP and especially not the presence of papers that have described the issue for extracting the effective components from the Koryo medicinal materials. First, this paper presents that CCLP can be shown like the equivalent process consisting of two tanks, where there is a shaking apparatus, respectively. It allows leachate to flow between two tanks. Then, this paper presents the principle model for CCLP and the state space model on based it. The accuracy of the model has been verified from experiments made at CCLP in the Koryo Extract Production at the Gang Gyi Koryo Manufacture Factory.

The method of state space model fitting is carried out by using the linear relation of the variable of the differential equations and separating the steady process and instant process to eliminate the steady errors course by instant errors. The improved fitting method is without solving the linear differential equations or using any iterative methods. The coefficient of the state space model can be solve simply using matrix operation under the premise of high accuracy, so it has a higher computational efficiency than former least square method. And this method can also be used with other fitting method. Finally, to illustrate the validity and accuracy of the improved method, a small perturbation state space model of a certain turboshaft engine model has been established by this method, and the simulation result between state space model and nonlinear model was also compared. Also, the state space model could be applied to fault diagnosis and control system design for aeroengines.

We develop a state space model documenting Gompertz behaviour of tumour growth. The state space model consists of two sub-models: a stochastic system model that is an extension of the deterministic model proposed by Gyllenberg and Webb (1991), and an observation model that is a statistical model based on data for the total number of tumour cells over time. In the stochastic system model we derive through stochastic equations the probability distributions of the numbers of different types of tumour cells. Combining with the statistic model, we use these distribution results to develop a generalized Bayesian method and a Gibbs sampling procedure to estimate the unknown parameters and to predict the state variables (number of tumour cells). We apply these models and methods to real data and to computer simulated data to illustrate the usefulness of the models, the methods, and the procedures.
