The phylogenetic position ofPhasmarhabditisis ideal for genomic comparison with other clade 9 species such asC. elegansandP. pacificus, as well as mammalian and insect parasites. These attributes could makeP. hermaphroditaan excellent choice of model to study the evolutionary emergence of parasitism.
