Apiomerus barrocoloradoi sp. nov. is described from Costa Rica and Panama. This new species is highly polychromatic, a judgment based on specimens of the same locality. Dorsal habitus images documenting the range of variation of the color pattern are provided. Male and female genitalia are documented in detail to provide unambiguous characters for species recognition. Color variation is discussed with regard to traditional species limits.

Cryptaspasma perseana Gilligan and Brown, new species, is described and illustrated from Mexico and Guatemala. This species is a potential pest of the fruit of cultivated avocado, Persea americana (Lauraceae). Images of adults, male secondary structures, male and female genitalia, eggs, larvae, and pupae are provided. Details of the life history are reviewed. We provide characters to differentiate this pest from the most common avocado fruit pest in the region, Stenoma catenifer (Walsingham) (Elachistidae), and a key to identify Lepidoptera larvae threatening avocado in California. In addition, we provide a complete list of tortricids documented from different avocado varieties worldwide.

Cotithene gorayebi Valente, da Silva & de Medeiros, sp. nov. is the first species of Cotithene Voss, 1940 described from the Amazonian forest in Brazil. The new species differs from other described species of Cotithene by its integument color pattern dissimilar between sexes and by the procoxal cavities separated by only a narrow septum in both male and female. It furthers differs by the unique morphology of male and female genitalia. A previously published key and phylogenetic matrix to Cotithene species were each modified to include the new species. The historical trajectory of host associations (inflorescences of Cyclanthaceae) in Cotithene is reanalyzed with the inclusion of the host of the new species. Previously known species are believed to be non-pollinators of various Cyclanthaceae; however, field observations of adults of the new species on inflorescences in anthesis of Evodianthus funifer (Cyclanthaceae) strongly suggest that this may be the first species of Cotithene known to play a role as a pollinator of Cyclanthaceae.

The genus Acusana is recorded from the Brazilian fauna for the first time, with the description of four new species: Acusana adunca sp. nov. and Acusana spina sp. nov. from Mato Grosso, Central-Western Brazil and Acusana dilatata sp. nov. and Acusana longa sp. nov. from Maranhão, Northeast Brazil. Detailed description and illustrations of male and female are provided, as well a revised diagnosis for the genus. The female genitalia of Acusana species is described and illustrated by the first time. A new record of Acusana paga DeLong & Freytag, 1966 is added from Costa Rica.

Kiekie gen. nov. is newly proposed to accommodate 11 Neotropical Ctenidae species. With the exception of one species from Colombia, they are all distributed in Central America. Two species are transferred from Ctenus: Kiekie sinuatipes (F.O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1897) comb. nov. from Costa Rica, and K. curvipes (Keyserling, 1881) comb. nov., with broader distribution from Mexico to Panama. Ctenus incolans (F.O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1900) is synonymized with Kiekie curvipes. Nine species are newly described. Kiekie garifuna sp. nov. was collected in Guatemala and Honduras. Four species were collected in Costa Rica: Kiekie sanjose sp. nov., K. verbena sp. nov., K. sarapiqui sp. nov., and K. griswoldi sp. nov.. Two species were collected in Panama: Kiekie barrocolorado sp. nov. and K. panamensis sp. nov.. Kiekie montanensis sp. nov. was collected in Costa Rica and Panama. Kiekie antioquia sp. nov., from Colombia, was the only species collected in South America. To support the description and further identification of the genus and its species, we provide illustrations of male and female genitalia, habitus and modified metatarsus of the male leg IV, measurements and diagnostic characters. We also provide a distributional map of the specimens herein recorded. Taxonomic changes are based in recent cladistics analysis, showing that at least two species belong to a well-supported clade, sister group of Africactenus Hyatt, 1954. We discuss the phylogenetic relationship of the group and the evolution of key morphological characters.

Four new species of the previously monotypic genus Narberdia Burke are described. All of them are intimately associated with plants of the genus Bernardia (Euphorbiaceae). Narberdia cervantae Soto-Hernández, new species (México, Jalisco on Bernardia spongiosa McVaugh), N. sarukhani Soto-Hernández, new species (México, Veracruz and Costa Rica on B. mexicana (Hook. & Arn.) Müll. Arg. and B. nicaraguensis Standl. & L.O. Williams), N. dugesi Soto-Hernández (México, Querétaro and Michoacán on B. mexicana and B. albida Lundell), and N. ramuvei Soto-Hernández, new species (México, Durango, Jalisco and Puebla on B. changii A. Cerv. & Flores Olv., B. rzedowskii A. Cerv. & Flores Olv. and B. valdesii A. Cerv. & Flores Olv.). Use of more than one species of plant as a host by one species of weevil is a common occurrence in Anthonomini. Sexual dimorphism is evident in the species with the female rostrum more slender and relatively longer than in male, the antennal scape attached near the midpoint of the rostrum in the female and beyond the midpoint in the male, and female with pro- and mesotibia bearing a tooth adjacent to the mucro, this tooth absent in the male. Specimens were collected at elevations from 62 m to 2288 m. The genus, previously only known from the United States of America and extreme northern México is now also known from Costa Rica as well as other areas of México. Narberdia apparently is most closely related to several Anthonomus squamosus species group members, both with similar characters of the body and form of the male median lobe (broad at the apex and strongly narrowed near the apex).

Chnoodes Chevrolat, 1849 currently has 32 species described in South and Central America, with only one species, Chnoodes centralis Sicard, 1912 described from French Guiana. Here, C. centralis is redescribed and five new species are described: C. brulei sp. nov. These species can be distinguished by body color, presence or absence of spots on the pronotum and elytra, and by male and female genitalia. A distribution map and a key for the species in French Guiana are provided.

A new species of Bertholdia Schaus is described: Bertholdia zoenia sp. n., based on males and females from Argentina and Paraguay. This new species is closer to Bertholdia myosticta Hampson, 1901 from Costa Rica, Irazú. Bertholdia zoenia sp. n. can be recognized externally because its hyaline spot on forewing is the widest among all species of genus. Also, the shape of this hyaline spot is like a right triangle with smooth outer margin, different from other species of genus, which have an irregular spot. Habitus, male and female genitalia, and particular structures of B. zoenia sp. n. are illustrated. Habitus and male genitalia of B. myosticta are also illustrated. A distribution map and commentaries of habitat of B. zoenia sp. n. and B. myosticta are given. Remarks on nomenclature of the genus are provided.
