The genus Glyphidocera (Glyphidoceridae) of Costa Rica is reviewed. Diagnoses, descriptions, and type information are provided for each species. Photographs of holotypes, illustrations of head, wing venation, and male and female genitalia, digitized distribution maps, and a key to all Glyphidocera found in Costa Rica are included.Resumen.— Los Glyphidocera (Glyphidoceridae) de Costa Rica son revisados. Type Information

The genus Cosmopterix Hübner, [1825] of continental Sub-Saharan Africa is revised. A total of 77 species are recognized and 56 species are described as new. Of eight new species, all known only from females, the validity of the species cannot be confirmed with certainty. Four new synonyms are proposed. Diagnoses, descriptions, and type information are provided for each species. Watercolours of the adults, line drawings of the wing venation, the male and the female genitalia and a key to the species are included, as well as distribution maps.

The Blastobasinae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea: Blastobasidae) of Costa Ricaare reviewed. Five new genera, Barbaloba, Hallicis, Koleps, Pheos, and Pseudokoleps, and 101 new species are described. Keys to all genera in Blastobasinae and keys to all species within each genus are provided to assist with identifications. In addition, scanning electron micrographs of the inner surface of the dilated first antennal flagellomere and associated sex scales for all Blastobasis are provided. Blastobasis coffeaella (Busck, 1925), B. graminea Adamski, 1999, Hypatopa tapadulcea Adamski, 1999, and Pigritia marjoriella Adamski, 1998 are redescribed.

The East Asian noctuid genus Lophomilia Warren, 1913 (=Atuntsea Berio, 1977, Bryograpta Sugi, 1977) is revised. Four new species (L. nekrasovi sp. n., L. rustica sp. n., L. diehli sp. n., and L. kobesi sp. n.) are described from Russian Far East, Korea, China and Indonesia, Sumatra. Lophomilia takao Sugi, 1962 and Lophomilia albicosta Yoshimoto 1995 are reported for the first time from China; Lophomilia polybapta (Butler, 1879) is first reported from Russia. The male and female genitalia of most species are described, adults of 12 species from East Asia are illustrated, and distribution maps for all species are presented.

The genus Paraplaneta Warren, 1895, until recently treated as a junior synonym of Cataclysme Hübner [1825], is revised. Both genera are members of the tribe Cataclysmini (Herbulot, 1962–63). As a whole, eight species of Paraplaneta are recognized from Himalaya region (India, Pakistan) and China, including four new species: P. anthracica, P. griseobrunnea, P. subfasciata (from China), and P. hreblayi (from Pakistan), described herein. A lectotype for Cataclysme conturbata sternecki Prout, 1938 is designated. Descriptions, diagnoses and illustrations of antennae, wing venation and male and female genitalia of most species are given. The tribal placement of Paraplaneta and related genera within the Cataclysmini is discussed.

Based on museum and private collections, two new species of the subfamily Acronictinae are described from China and Russia, Transbaikalia and Primorye Territory: Acronicta (Triaena) psichinensis sp. n. and Acronicta (Viminia) dahurica sp. n. The adults and male and female genitalia of the new species are illustrated and compared to related species. Distribution maps for the new species are presented.

Based on the collection of the Zoological Research Institute and Museum Alexander Koenig, Germany, Bonn, two new species of the genera Lygephila Billberg, 1820 and Apopestes Hübner, [1823] are described from China. The new taxa belong to the subfamily Catocalinae, tribe Toxocampini: Lygephila stueningi, sp. n., Lygephila longicoecum sp. n., and Apopestes curiosa sp. n. The new subgnenus Sinocampa, subgen. n. (type species Lygephila longicoecum, sp. n.) of the genus Lygephila is described. The adults and male and female genitalia are illustrated, and distribution maps of the new species are presented.

Apiomerus barrocoloradoi sp. nov. is described from Costa Rica and Panama. This new species is highly polychromatic, a judgment based on specimens of the same locality. Dorsal habitus images documenting the range of variation of the color pattern are provided. Male and female genitalia are documented in detail to provide unambiguous characters for species recognition. Color variation is discussed with regard to traditional species limits.

Six Japanese species of the genus Lecithocera Herrich-Schäffer, 1853 (Gelechioidea: Lecithoceridae) are treated: L. chersitis Meyrick, 1918; L. daebuensis Park & Lee, 1999; L. duplicata (Gozmány, 1978); L. tridentata Wu & Liu, 1993; L. fascimaculata sp. nov.; and L. fuscialaris sp. nov.. One species, L. duplicata (Gozmány, 1978), is reported for the first time from Japan. The male and female genitalia, wing venation, and adult appearance are illustrated for all the species.

AbstractSix nearctic species of the genus Chionodes Hübner feeding on Acer (3), Quercus (2), and Salix (1) are dealt with. Keys to the species based on male and female genitalia are presented. Moths and genitalia are described, male and female genitalia are figured, and distribution maps are included. Two new species are described: Chionodes acerella n. sp. from British Columbia, on Acer sp.; Chionodes salicella n. sp. from British Columbia, on Salix sp.
