Ancoruncus langeri, new genus and new species, is described and illustrated from the Neotropics (Bolivia). It is assigned to the tribe Cochylini (subtribe Euliina) in the family Tortricidae. Ancoruncus langeri is characterized by an unusual, strongly developed uncus, distally expanded into an anchor-like, bilobed apical process and a complex gnathos in male genitalia, as well as an unusual configuration of the anterior lobes of the papillae anales, and tergum 8 with the anterior area bearing a double pocket in the female genitalia. The hypothetical dorsal coupling mechanism of the male and female genitalia is discussed.

The Australian species of the small heterogastrid genus Parathyginus Scudder, 1957 have been reviewed, resulting in the establishment of the junior subjective synonymy of P. doddi (Distant, 1918) with P. signifer (Walker, 1872), and the description of two new species, P. australis sp. nov. and P. acuminatus sp. nov. A redescription of the genus is provided with emphasis on male and female genitalia characters, along with a key to all included Australian species. Male genitalia, particularly the details of the aedeagus, have been rarely studied in this genus or for that matter the family Heterogastridae particularly due to the difficulty in inflating the inflatable sections. In this study, therefore, an attempt was made to fully inflate and describe the aedeagus of all the species included in this contribution, as well as of Heterogaster urticae (Fabricius, 1775), the type species of the oldest genus Heterogaster Schilling, 1829, of the family Heterogastridae.

The spider genus Austrochilus comprises only six species known from Chile and Argentina. Here, we describe a new species, Austrochilus parwis sp. n., based on a single male and several females. The new species was found in Chile (Region IX) and, based on characters in the male and female genitalia, seems to be closely related to A. forsteri Grismado, Lopardo & Platnick, 2003. The female genitalia were investigated using X-ray microscopy, revealing for the first time the internal organization of austrochiline female genitalia. Furthermore, we provide a comparative documentation of the male genitalia of austrochilines based mainly on type material, and comment on the recently proposed nomenclatorial changes to the family name Austrochilidae.

Bergiantina, a new Agaristinae genus, is described. The genus contains 8 species. Three were previously assigned to Aucula Walker: Metagarista hilzingeri Berg, Euthisanotia magnifica Schaus, and Aucula schausi Jörgensen. Two were previously assigned to Erocha Walker: Heterocampa dolens Druce and Erocha trita Druce. Three new species are described: Bergiantina intermedia, B. parva, and B. familiae. Bergiantina can be distinguished from other Agaristinae by its distinctive forewing pattern with white patches or stripes associated with the postmedial line. Other diagnostic characters include: male genitalia with moderately asymmetric valves, aedoeagus with an apical sclerotized horn-like dorsal projection, and female genitalia with a thin, membranous ductus bursae 3x as long as anterior apophysis. Adults and male and female genitalia are described and illustrated, and a key to species provided. One new synonymy is established and two lectotypes are designated.

Four new species of Euphyllodromia Shelford, 1908 (E. spathulata, E. nigromaculata, E. neoelegans and E. spiculata) are described. Their male genitalia are illustrated. The female genitalia of E. spiculata and E. nigromaculata are also illustrated. Diagnostic characters of the head, thorax and abdomen of E. amazonensis Rocha e Silva, 1984 are reiterated, illustrated and combined with the description of the male and female genitalia for the first time. A key is provided to include the species treated here.

A new genus Burmanyctycia gen. n. is described for the new species Burmanyctycia naumanni sp. n. from Chin State in north-western Myanmar. The new genus is related to the genera Blepharomima Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, Bryotypella Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998 and Charanyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998. Two new synonyms are established: Bryotypella = Paranyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. and Bryotypella = Parabole Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. Six new combinations are established: Bryotypella minima (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella miraculosa (Hreblay, Peregovits & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella orbiculosa (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n., Bryotypella rubiculosa (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella medionigra (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. and Bryotypella rectilinea (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. The check-lists of the genera Bryotypella and Charanyctycia are provided. Adults, male and female genitalia of the new and the related taxa are illustrated.

A new species Ypsolopha rhinolophi Corley is described from northern Portugal and south-east France. It resembles Y. alpella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) and Y. lucella (Fabricius, 1775) but shows clear differences from both species in DNA barcode and in male and female genitalia. Male genitalia of Y. lucella are illustrated for the first time. The new species has been collected at light, reared from larvae on Quercus pyrenaica Willd. and recognised from DNA barcode fragments obtained from droppings of horseshoe bats.

Descriptions and keys are provided for males of 7 ecnomid caddisfly species, with 6 species new to science and to Australia. Females of 5 species are also described. These species are placed in the new genus, Neboissomina, new genus. The following new species are described: N. jardinei, N. kuranya, N. mida, N. persona, N. philsuteri, and N. riyala. A new combination is suggested for N. krokale (Neboiss, 1979). The new genus is erected based on unique characters in the male and female genitalia, wings and setal warts of the head. Neboissomina, new genus is endemic to northern and eastern Australia.

AbstractThe new genus Archepandemis, with type-species Parapandemis borealis Freeman, 1965, is described. Two new species, A. coniferana from British Columbia and Alberta and A. morrisana from New Brunswick, are distinguished from A. borealis by characters of maculation and especially of male and female genitalia.

Apiformyia gen. nov. (Diptera: Bombyliidae) is described based on a large series of specimens from the Northern Territory of Australia. The specimens represent a single new species A. australis sp. nov. The genus belongs to the Bombyliinae, and has remarkable anatomical affinities to the New World genus Heterostylum Macquart. In particular, the head of Apiformyia has a sinuous posterior eye margin, but lacks a line bisecting the facets as found in most Anthracinae that also share such an eye margin. A sinuous posterior eye margin is uncommon in the subfamily Bombyliinae, being only found in Heterostylum and four other genera found in the New World, Afrotropical and Palaearctic regions. Additionally, Apiformyia shares with Heterostylum alone an unusual wing venation, with cell R 5 closed, and the apex of cell dm-cu meeting the fork of M 1 and M 2 , there being no stem of M 1+2 . The male genitalia of Apiformyia are generalized bombyliine in form, and do not share the particular unique features of Heterostylum such as the large recurved epiphallus and the gonostylus with apical beak-like process. The female genitalia of Apiformyia lack the sand chamber, acanthophorite spines and presents spermathecae with elongated bulbs, spermathecal ducts more than twice as long as sperm pump and sclerotized collars well developed, also differentiating the genus from Heterostylum.

A new genus and new species of deraeocorine plant bug, Kalamemiris gen. nov. and Kalamemiris collessi sp. nov., is described from Australia. Illustrations of male genitalia, scanning electron micrographs of key characters of the male and female habitus, as well as male genitalic characters are provided. The diagnosis of the new genus is made in comparison to other deraeocorines of the Australian biogeographic region.
