A study of polyclad fauna in Maharashtra along the west coast of India and the Andaman group of Islands was carried out in the period 2018–2020. The paper describes Cycloporus decoratus sp. nov. and Eurylepta alicula sp. nov. based on external and internal anatomical features. The study also reports Eurylepta turma for the first time from the Indo-Pacific region and this is the second record of the species after its first formal description from Brazil in 1952. The paper comments on the distribution pattern of the genus Eurylepta and Cycloporus.

In the present study stenopodidean shrimp, Microprosthema validum is first time reported from the West coast of India. This species is widely distributed along the Indo-Pacific region and previously reported from the Southeast coast of India. The details of morphological characters of the species are presented in the report.

A total of 16 species of the family Leiognathidae have been collected from the commercial landings from Cochin and Neendakara on the western coast of India from 1998–2000. Detailed morphometric data have been collected and all 16 species are redescribed with live color photographs here. Various relationships in the morphometric characteristics have been studied and regression equations fitted to enable comparison of the populations of these species from Kerala with those from other regions. Of the 16 species collected and described in the present work, five species, Nuchequula nuchalis, Equulites absconditus, Equulites leuciscus, Aurigequula longispina, and Gazza achlamys, are reported for the first time from the entire western coast of India.

Turris clausifossata, a Conoid, Turrid is being reported for the first time from Gopnath coast, Gulf of Khambhat the state of Gujarat situated on the west coast of India. Turris clausifossata was first recorded7 from Dwarka, Gulf of Kachchh, Gujarat (21°49’N, 68°55’E), but not brought to light as first record to the west coast of India. Yet, its occurrence was reported only at two coasts of Gujarat. Current research reveals that Turris clausifossata is extending its distribution range to the south of Dwarka on the west coast of India. Present study was carried out from April 2015 to March 2016 and in this study, a status of species presented in form of population dynamics and seasonal availability.

humphead wrasse (cheilinus undulatus) are widely distributed throughout the indo-pacific region, but usually at low densities. this species' distribution in india includes lakshadweep, gulf of mannar, the east coast and the andaman and nicobar islands. the abundance and distribution of this species on the west coast of india was unknown prior to this study.

India is known for its rich biodiversity and is fortunate to have several endemic species from different classes of vertebrates. India is home to 7.5% of the global fish diversity, with 91 endemic species of ray finned fishes, the actinopterygians. Some fish species have never been reported until recently, and one such example is the long-horned Cowfish (Ostracidae), best known for inhabiting only certain areas of the Indo-Pacific oceans. However, it has been reported recently in the Bay of Bengal, but never on the west coast of India. This is the first time this fish has been found on the west coast of India. Given its morphology, the migration seems highly improbable since it can only endure lethargic swimming. In this article, we have explored the role of other external forces that could have contributed to its journey to the west coast of India. As such, we recognize the role of Super Cyclone Ockhi as a vital force in determining the expansion of its range. The fact that its first collection coincides with the passage of Cyclone Ockhi on the west coast of India greatly supports our hypothesis. A year later, another specimen was recovered from a location very close to the first, indicating the successful establishment of Lacturia cornuta in its new environment. Related morphometric and meristic studies of our specimens are consistent with previous studies reported in the Bay of Bengal.

Introduction: Significant work has been done on the diversity and distribution of pandalid shrimps in Indian waters but reports did not include the presence of this species. Objective: To list the marine shrimps of Gujarat. Methods: Samples were collected from trawl catch. Results: Procletes levicarina is reported for first time from the coastal area of Gujarat, including a detailed morphological description and photographs. This species is previously reported from the east coast of India. Conclusion: Procletes levicarina occurs in the west coast of India.
