Malocclusion is a common problem in dogs. Linguoverted canine teeth (class I malocclusion) can cause palatal defects, oronasal fistulae, dental wear, and periodontal disease. Mandibular distoclusion (class II malocclusion), in which the mandibular arch occludes caudal to its normal position relative to the maxillary arch, can further contribute to lingual displacement of mandibular canine teeth. Traditionally, a flowable self-curing bisacrylic composite material has been used. The method described here uses a light cure acrylic denture base material utilizing multiple customized segments to construct the appliance to the desired shape and size necessary to achieve a functional incline plane.

AbstractFor improvement in longevity of complete denture prosthesis in place of conventional poly methyl methacrylate denture base material, metal denture base is used to rehabilitate complete edentulous maxillary arch as it helps in preventing resorption of residual ridges and improves fracture resistance, better dimensional stability, more accuracy, less weight, and better retention of prosthesis. For better prognosis there are many factors, but major factors such as retention, stability, and support are more important. Metal denture base leads to improvement in physical properties of the prosthesis.

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate 4 cases with bi-lateral ectopic mandibular canines and to demonstrate in each case which one of the two canines erupted to a normal position in the dental arch. The canines are observed from Orthopantomograms from 4 children (aged 8-13 years of age) in the mixed dentitions stages. Of these children 2 were males and 2 were females. From each child there was between 3-5 Orthopantomograms. These were observed over 3-4 years period. In each of the 4 cases with bi-lateral ectopia of the mandibular canines the one mandibular canine erupted into a normal position, while the other one declined into a horizontal position during the mixed dentition period. These 4 cases demonstrated that the inclination of the canines were important to observe and diagnose from the initial stage (first ortopantomogram). The cases presented, demonstrated that the unsuccessfully erupted canines ending in a horizontal position, were the canines which inclined slightly more that the contra lateral canine already from the initial stage.

The objective of this study is to prepare and study chemical compounds for cleaning denture from locally available materials. The chemical compounds solutions were (sodium bicarbonate with alum), (sodium bicarbonate with citric acid), (sodium bicarbonate with apple vinegar), (sodium bicarbonate with clear commercial vinegar), (sodium bicarbonate with thyme oil), (saturated salt solution), (clear commercial vinegar), (alum). The main study, the effects of the chemical compounds solutions were evaluated on the (color, water Sorption and transverse strength) of heat cured denture base material. The t-test showed that the highest increase in optical density for the specimens immersed in (alum), (sodium bicarbonate +alum), (sodium bicarbonate + apple vinegar) solutions at 1/2 hr immersion and it increased more at 8 hrs immersion. The conclusions of this study showed that the safest prepared solutions on the denture base material that could be used as denture cleansers are (sodium bicarbonate{7g}with clear commercial vinegar{5ml}), (sodium bicarbonate {2g} with thyme oil {3.57g}), (saturated salt solution {40g}) at 1/2 hr and 8 hrs of immersion. While, (sodium bicarbonate {2g} with citric acid {4.57g}) solution appeared its safety at 1/2 hr immersion only.
