Recently, more and more network fraud incidents have damaged the interests of cloud service traders. To enhance mutual trust and win–win cooperation between the users and the cloud service provider, in the article, we construct a trust access control model for cloud services. First, we propose a trust evaluation method based on direct trust, trust risk, feedback trust, reward penalty, and obligation trust to express the complexity and uncertainty of trust relationship. Second, we propose trust evaluation and weight algorithm of trust factor by information entropy and maximum dispersion; therefore, our model has a better scientific and higher practical application value. Finally, we design related comparative experiments of three models to verify the efficiency, success rate, accuracy of trust evaluation, and privacy disclosure date, and these results show that our research performance is quite superior.

Among the wide range of cloud service providers with different performance characteristics, in order to let the cloud users find cloud services which satisfy its performance preferences and specific trust levels,it needs to establish a reasonable and scientific cloud service trust evaluation system. This paper introduces a membership degree theory into trust evaluation model. First, it designs the trust evaluation system framework of cloud services, and establishes a trust evaluation model of cloud services. Next, it calculates the trust level of cloud services with the comprehensive trust cloud center of gravity evaluation method (CCGE). Finally, the experiment results show that this model can build precise trust relationship between cloud users and cloud services based on users performance demands.

Now-a-days the cloud is very useful for providing many IT services. These services are delivered over the internet and accessed globally with the help of internet. The cloud service provider ensures flexibility in provisioning and scaling of resources. The cloud services are completely managed by cloud service provider (CSP), which ensures the end to end availability, reliability and security of the cloud resources. The exponential growth of cloud services has provided many opportunities but has also perplexed severe security concerns. The popularity of cloud service based applications is rapidly increasing due to which many security and legal issues are arising. In this paper we describe the existing access control method and framework for securing cloud services. The concept of modified reputation and attribute based access control system has been discussed. In this approach the concept of crowd reviewing has been used to compute the credit value of users. The simulation experiment has been shown to protect the consistent users and to restrict the access of inconsistent users in cloud environment. It is an access control approach to mitigate the challenges in security concerns. This access control mechanism is helpful for cloud application services, which automatically restrict the malicious users from the access of resources. It is also helpful in authorization of users to access the cloud resources.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to define an evaluation model for cloud services to deal with the fuzzy information and propose a novel fuzzy evaluation method based on consistency intensity to analyze the quantitative value from the fuzzy information. Design/methodology/approach – The cloud service evaluation framework is constructed, and different trusted indicators for the infrastructure services and the application services are designed, respectively. In the novel fuzzy evaluation method, the interval values can be aggregated by the Dempster-Shafer Theory and be transformed into the certain value by linguistic discount factor. The consistency intensity is proposed to determine the value of the linguistic discount factor, which can reflect the mainstream opinions in the assessment. Findings – The proposed method can solve the problem on the analysis and synthesis of the fuzzy evaluation information. An instance of trust evaluation of cloud storage service is illustrated to verify that the proposed method can express the opinions of all evaluators more adequately. Practical implications – A serial of experiments are carried out on NetLogo, and the results show that the proposed method is practical and efficient. Originality/value – Instead of obtaining only the qualitative results by the multi-attribute decision-making method, the fuzzy evaluation method based on consistency intensity can obtain the quantitative results from the fuzzy information according to linguistic discount factor and consistency intensity.

In order to solve the trust problems between users and cloud computing service providers in cloud computing services, the existing trust evaluation technology and access control technology in the cloud computing service are analyzed. And the evaluation index of cloud computing is also analyzed. Users can calculate the relevant indicators of cloud computing service according to their own business goals, and choose the appropriate cloud computing services according to their own trust need. In addition, the reliability assessment method of users based on the service process is proposed. Cloud computing access control system can be used for user credibility evaluation, and it can handle user access requests according to user's creditability. In the study, a cloud computing service trust evaluation tool is designed, and the modeling and architecture designs of trust evaluation are also given. The effectiveness of the method is verified by experiments on cloud computing service evaluation methods.

Nowadays, many business organizations are operating on the cloud environment in order to diminish their operating costs and to select the best service from many cloud providers. The increasing number of Cloud Services available on the market encourages the cloud consumer to be conscious in selecting the most apt Cloud Service Provider that satisfies functionality, as well as QoS parameters. Many disciplines of computer-based applications use standardized ontology to represent information in their fields that indicate the necessity of an ontology-based representation. The proposed generic model can help service consumers to identify QoS parameters interrelations in the cloud services selection ontology during run-time, and for service providers to enhance their business by interpreting the various relations. The ontology has been developed using the intended attributes of QoS from various service providers. A generic model has been developed and it is tested with the developed ontology.

Security threats are unforeseen attacks to the services provided by the cloud service provider. Depending on the type of attack, the cloud service and its associated features will be unavailable. The mitigation time is an integral part of attack recovery. This research paper explores the different parameters that will aid in predicting the mitigation time after an attack on cloud services. Further, the paper presents machine learning models that can predict the mitigation time. The paper presents the kernel-based machine learning models that can predict the average mitigation time during security attacks. The analysis of the results shows that the kernel-based models show 87% accuracy in predicting the mitigation time. Furthermore, the paper explores the performance of the kernel-based machine learning models based on the regression-based predictive models. The regression model is used as a benchmark model to analyze the performance of the machine learning-based predictive models in the prediction of mitigation time in the wake of an attack.

One of the most unique forms of contracting is apparent in cloud computing. Cloud computing, unlike other conventional methods, has adopted a different approach in the formation of binding contract that will be used for the governance of the cloud. This method is namely the clickwrap agreement. Click wrap agreement follows a take it or leave it basis in which the end users are provided with limited to no option in terms of having a say on the contract that binds them during the use of cloud services. The terms found in the contract are often cloud service provider friendly and will be less favourable to the end user. In this article, the authors examine the terms that are often found in the cloud computing agreement as well as study the benefit that is entailed in adopting this contracting method. This chapter has undertaken a qualitative study that comprises interviews of cloud service providers in Malaysia. Hence, this study is a novel approach that also provides insight in terms of the cloud service provider perspective regarding the click wrap agreement.

With popularization of cloud services, multiple users easily share and update their data through cloud storage. For data integrity and consistency in the cloud storage, the audit mechanisms were proposed. However, existing approaches have some security vulnerabilities and require a lot of computational overheads. This paper proposes a secure and efficient audit mechanism for dynamic shared data in cloud storage. The proposed scheme prevents a malicious cloud service provider from deceiving an auditor. Moreover, it devises a new index table management method and reduces the auditing cost by employing less complex operations. We prove the resistance against some attacks and show less computation cost and shorter time for auditing when compared with conventional approaches. The results present that the proposed scheme is secure and efficient for cloud storage services managing dynamic shared data.

With the rapid growth of available online cloud services and providers for customers, the selection of cloud service providers plays a crucial role in on-demand service selection on a subscription basis. Selecting a suitable cloud service provider requires a careful analysis and a reasonable ranking method. In this study, an improved combined compromise solution (CoCoSo) method is proposed to identify the ranking of cloud service providers. Based on the original CoCoSo method, we analyze the defects of the final aggregation operator in the original CoCoSo method which ignores the equal importance of the three subordinate compromise scores, and employ the operator of “Linear Sum Normalization” to normalize the three subordinate compromise scores so as to make the results reasonable. In addition, we introduce a maximum variance optimization model which can increase the discrimination degree of evaluation results and avoid inconsistent ordering. A numerical example of the trust evaluation of cloud service providers is given to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method. Furthermore, we perform sensitivity analysis and comparative analysis to justify the accuracy of the decision outcomes derived by the proposed method. Besides, the results of discrimination test also indicate that the proposed method is more effective than the original CoCoSo method in identifying the subtle differences among alternatives.

Digitalization and the innovative use of digital technologies is changing the way we work, learn, communicate, buy and sell products. One emerging digital technology of growing importance is cloud computing. More and more businesses, governments and households are purchasing hardware and software services from a small number of large cloud computing providers. This change is having an impact on how macroeconomic data are compiled and how they are interpreted by users. Specifically, this is changing the information and communication technology (ICT) investment pattern from one where ICT investment was diversified across many industries to a more concentrated investment pattern. Additionally, this is having an impact on cross-border flows of commercial services since the cloud service provider does not need to be located in the same economic territory as the purchaser of cloud services. This paper will outline some of the methodological and compilation challenges facing statisticians and analysts, provide some tools that can be used to overcome these challenges and highlight some of the implications these changes are having on the way users of national accounts data look at investment and trade in commercial services.
