Aim: The aim of this study is an overview of health promotion behaviors such as non-smoking, non-alcohol abuse, physical activity, diet and body weight and their impact on quality of life among cancer patients and cancer survivors. Methods: Literature overview was made systematically. Studies that have been included in the final analysis, were analyzed through 4 steps. After reviewing the abstract, 6 full text articles were examined in more detail for eligibility and were included in the final data analysis. Results: All six articles have shown that patients with healthy lifestyle and those who are conducting health promotion behaviors have greater score on the quality of life questionnaire. Physical activity has an impact on symptoms of treatment and disease. Conclusion: This study supports the need for future research on public health view on conducting healthy lifestyle during therapy and in the remission of disease. Abstract Background Adolescence is one of the most challenging periods of human life. Many healthy or risky behaviors may be formed during this period and continue to the end of life. The aim of this study was to examine and compare the health promotion behaviors of male and female students in high schools. Methods In this descriptive-comparative study, 609 high school students were selected using multi-stage random sampling method. Data were collected using demographic and health-promoting lifestyle profile (HPLPII) questionnaires. Results The mean of health promotion behaviors was moderate in female (2.43 ± 0.46) and male (2.61 ± 0.45) students. The highest and lowest means in the male students were respectively the dimensions of spiritual growth and health responsibility. Also, the highest and lowest means in the female students were dimensions of interpersonal relationships as well as physical activity and exercise. The status of male health promotion behaviors was significantly more favorable than that of the female (p = 0.001, t = −4.71). The male students had a better situation than female in terms of all the six dimensions of HPLPII, so there was a significant difference between them in the four dimensions of spiritual growth, stress management, physical activity and health responsibility. There was also a significant relationship between the history of physical and mental illness in the past year and the students’ health promotion behaviors (p < 0.05). Conclusion The results indicated the importance of promoting self-care and educational interventions in the aspects such as physical activity and health responsibility of young people in order to improve the health of the community.

Introduction: Regular physical activity is considered as the first priority in healthy lifestyle. Due to the importance and role of mobility and physical activity in women's lives, the main goal of this research was to design a model for attracting females to fitness clubs by  emphasizing on the health promotion behaviors.  Methods: In this research, a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods was applied. The statistical population included all female clients of fitness clubs, who exercised in these centers for more than six previous months in Yazd. For sampling, a combination of cluster and relative methods was used. The research data were analyzed using the structural equation model through the Amos software version 23. Results: Based on the findings of the exploratory factor analysis, three effective factors of environmental (design, facilities, and health), social (administrators, family), and services (planning, advertising, cost) were identified in attracting female clients to the fitness clubs in Yazd province. The results of the model's fitness indices showed a good fitness for the proposed model. Conclusion: The findings suggest the physical fitness clubs to have more effective plans. The club managers are recommended to consider expectations of their clients, especially women and mothers to  attract more customers to their clubs.

Introduction: Health-promoting behaviors and healthy behaviors are the healing factors for the promotion of health in pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to determine the health promotion behaviors in pregnant women referring to the comprehensive health centers in Bushehr (the capital city of Bushehr Province, Iran) in 2016. Methods: In this descriptive study, 385 pregnant women referring to the comprehensive health centers were selected by convenience sampling. The data collection tool was a questionnaire consisting of two parts: the first part was related to demographic questions and the second part of the questionnaire was related to health promotion behaviors (Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile II) HPLP II which includes 52 questions. After confirming the validity and reliability of the tool, the data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, independent t-test, Pearson correlation, and one-way ANOVA. Results: The mean score of health promotion behaviors was desirable. Also, among dimensions of health promotion behaviors, the area of health accountability with the mean and standard deviation of (38.25 ± 5.78) had the highest score, and the range of physical activity with the mean and standard deviation of (16.24 ± 5.47) had the lowest score. The age (being under 25 years old) and collegiate education level, among the demographic variables, had a significant relationship with health-promoting behaviors (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The result of the study indicated a moderate level of health promotion behaviors in women participating in the present study. Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention to the areas of physical activity, stress management, and social relationships.
