This paper presents an Execution Management System (EMS) for Grid services that builds on the Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA) while achieving “mobile awareness” by establishing a WS-Notification mechanism with mobile network session middleware. It builds heavily on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), used for managing sessions with mobile terminals (such as laptops and PDAs) where the services are running. Although the management of mobile services is different to that of ubiquitous services, the enhanced EMS manages both of them in a seamless fashion and incorporates all resources into one Mobile Dynamic Virtual Organization (MDVO). The described EMS has been implemented within the framework of the Akogrimo EU IST project and has been used to support mission critical application scenarios in public demonstrations, including composite and distributed applications made of both ubiquitous and mobile services within multiple domains.

For the development about Manufacturing Execution System of mould making, the difficulty in manufacturing execution management is pointed out by combining mould making process with current management regulations of mould making enterprises. Goal of the system is analyzed and its main function is designed. System architecture is established based on WEB platform and B/S mode, The physical data model is designed by using PowerDesigner software and implementation methods of some critical functions for manufacturing execution system are developed based on JSP. Through practical enterprise application, it is proved that the system immensely enhance the manufacturing execution management level for mould making enterprises.

Aiming at the design and development of integrated Manufacturing Execution System (MES) of solar photovoltaic modules production, the difficulty of the manufacturing execution management was pointed out combining with solar photovoltaic modules production flow, the goals and main functions of the integrated MES were analyzed and designed based on the analysis of solar photovoltaic modules production enterprise’s main characteristics and management status. The physical data model of MES was designed by Power Designer software and some key function modules which include workshop plans and scheduling management, Workflow management and control system and process quality control were developed based on J2EE. The practical applications in some solar photovoltaic modules production enterprises were proved that the integrated MES could enhance the manufacturing management level of solar photovoltaic modules production effectively.

The paper shows the features of the application of the case method in the study of the discipline of IT project management for students majoring in the field of Information Technology. This work analyzes some of the difficulties associated with the limited use of case studies in the field of IT. An original solution to the problem of combining flexible technologies for the development of the project itself on the basis of a case study and methods of studying and applying special software for IT project management presented by authors. The conceptual scheme of the main stages of work with a case, interrelations and content from an initial acquaintance, discussion in groups and acceptance of intermediate decisions, to planning of operations, calendar planning of works and resources were shown. However, the role of special software for visualization of separate stages of project execution management in the MS Project environment at all stages of the life cycle was explained. The combination of individual analytical work of the students, acquisition of teem job skills, the study of MS Project tools, IT project management methods at different stages allows to achieve the planned learning outcomes and develop interdisciplinary competencies.

The Driving Pipeline is a driving control scheme for a mobile robot that drives the robot vehicle outdoors continuously and adaptively. Although the basic idea of the Driving Pipeline originates from a pipelined computer architecture, the Driving Pipeline adopts more complex execution management for adaptive vehicle motion. Like the pipelined computer architecture, the Driving Pipeline segments necessary computation for robot vehicle motion into several successive subprocesses and executes them on the pipelined processing modules that operate in parapel. Because of this pipelined architecture, the Driving Pipeline offers high computation performance, and then vehicle's high speed and continuous motion. Unlike the pipelined computer architecture, however, the Driving Pipeline adjusts execution cycles in order to adapt vehicle motion both to driving environment and computation resources in robot systems. For adaptive control, the Driving Pipeline introduces control parameters and defines required relations among them. Because of the explicit control scheme, the Driving Pipeline not only enables adaptive control but also analyzes the robot navigation. The Driving Pipeline illustrates mid level navigation between the driving control and the high level map navigation. Introducing this navigation layer offers more adaptability to the environment.
