The Ministry of Education and Culture in 2016 made one of the breakthrough programs in an effort to organize and fulfill productive teachers in Vocational High Schools (VHS) through the Dual Skills Program (DSK). The DSK is implemented to support the improvement of vocational education as well as education and job skills training. Meanwhile, DSK participating teachers must have new competencies that can be used to teach productive subjects in certain areas of expertise. Increasing the competence of DSK participants needs to take into account the development of transferable skills obtained after conducting training or in the process of implementing DSK. The aims of this study are to 1.) Determine the types of transferable skills that DSK participant teachers need to possess; and 2.) Analyze and describe the transferable skills of teachers of vocational high school on-in-on-in DSK in Malang Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The samples used were all Vocational High School teachers who took part in the on-in-on-in DSK in Malang Regency, while the respondent's data collection used a questionnaire. The results showed that the types of transferable skills consist of communication skills, planning skills, interpersonal skills, work attitude skills, organizational skills, financial management skills, and critical thinking skills. The transferable skills of teachers of vocational high school on-in-on-in dual skills program in Malang Regency were in a good category.

The aims of this study to analyze the effect of job characteristics (X1), compensation (X2) and religiosity (X3) on employee loyalty (Y) Tabassam Farm Mojokerto. Job characteristics have five indicators, namely job skills, task identity, task significance, task autonomy, and task feedback. Compensation has six indicators, namely salary, incentives, bonuses, allowances, insurance, and non- financial rewards. Religiosity has five indicators, namely ideology, practice, experience, knowledge and application. Employee loyalty has four indicators, namely obedience, responsibility, dedication, and integrity. The population of this research is Tabassam Farm employees who have worked for more than two years.This research sample of 73 people. The hypothesis used in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study are job characteristics (X1) and religiosity (X3) have a simultaneous and partial effect on employee loyalty, while the compensation variable (X2) has a simultaneous but not partial effect on employee loyalty. The value of the coefficient of determination in this study is 64.4% which indicates that employee loyalty is influenced by job characteristics, compensation, and religiosity, while the remaining 35.6% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Higher education institutions are responsible for providing their graduates with relevant job skills that will allow them to compete in the labour market. With this in mind, the purpose of this study was to identify the factors associated with graduate unemployment in Ethiopia. The data were collected, analysed, and interpreted using a quantitative design. Using Cochran’s sampling formula, 359 graduates from five regions were selected as the sources of primary data. Multinomial logistic regression was used to analyse the data because it is a good model for computing the interaction between more than two independent and dependent variables. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.947 indicated that the instrument’s reliability is adequate. The study revealed that the independent variables that correlate with graduates’ unemployment are demographic characteristics, curriculum, institutional characteristics, graduate characteristics, and economic and labour market conditions. These findings imply that HEIs and governance bodies should reconsider the sector’s policy and strategic directions in terms of graduates’ employability output. As one of the major improvements, the study also recommends creating an enabling environment for employers to thrive, while higher education institutions adjust their curricula to meet the needs of employers.

This research was conducted to find out how the role of the church in liberating society from poverty. The problem of poverty in the church base areas in Indonesia is a real problem and continues from year to year. Poverty is a human problem. The church as the salt and light of the world is here to make an impact and bring about change. The research uses a qualitative approach by searching literature and field facts to respond to the conditions of poverty and how the church plays a role in liberating people from poverty. The results of the study show the importance of the church's role in bringing change to people who experience poverty. The church can play a role in two things, namely: first, with a political approach, both in terms of realm power and in terms of the good common. Second, the educational approach is to become a facilitator for the community in conducting job skills trainings.

The paper shows the features of the application of the case method in the study of the discipline of IT project management for students majoring in the field of Information Technology. This work analyzes some of the difficulties associated with the limited use of case studies in the field of IT. An original solution to the problem of combining flexible technologies for the development of the project itself on the basis of a case study and methods of studying and applying special software for IT project management presented by authors. The conceptual scheme of the main stages of work with a case, interrelations and content from an initial acquaintance, discussion in groups and acceptance of intermediate decisions, to planning of operations, calendar planning of works and resources were shown. However, the role of special software for visualization of separate stages of project execution management in the MS Project environment at all stages of the life cycle was explained. The combination of individual analytical work of the students, acquisition of teem job skills, the study of MS Project tools, IT project management methods at different stages allows to achieve the planned learning outcomes and develop interdisciplinary competencies.

Abstract Elder abuse and neglect (EAN) comprises multiple dimensions, is experienced by about 10% of older adults in the U.S in diverse communities, and is severely detrimental to older adults’ (OA) health and wellbeing. However, documentation of EAN among refugee OA is greatly lacking as are services for these communities. Refugee OA are overall underserved members of marginalized communities. This paper reports on a community-engaged study to collect information and raise awareness of EAN among OA in 2 North Carolina refugee communities - Nepali-speaking Bhutanese and Congolese. Research partners included University researchers and community refugee-serving organizations. Surveys and focus group interviews were conducted. 17 Nepali-speaking Bhutanese and 13 Congolese filled out survey questions, including the Elder Abuse Suspicion Index. They participated in focus group discussions (FGDs), separately for men and women of each community. Survey results indicated EAN more among Congolese than Nepali-speaking Bhutanese. FGD results showed both communities prefer to depend on family members, and experience difficulties with language, transportation, and economic insecurity. No EAN was reported in the FGDs. In line with principles of community-engaged approaches, a capacity-building event to increase awareness of EAN was held, attended by 25 persons from the two communities. This study adds documentation on an under-researched area and marginalized communities. Action recommendations include disseminating culturally appropriate EAN information, strengthening English language and job skills and transportation options, encouraging cooperation across state, nonprofit, educational, and service organizations to address needs of older refugee adults.


The value of talent workers, talent management and talent retention has increased in the increasing economic circumstances of the world. Talented and devoted employees are often an integral part of every company. Smart, sophisticated, digitally literate, internationally astute and operationally agile businessmen are considered talented individuals. Talent management means that organisations have access to strategic planning with the best candidates with relevant expertise placed in the right place. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop a conceptual model that explain the relationship between talent management and employee retention. The study will be used to accumulate empirical literature by the name of talent management and talent retention in different online database sources such as Google Scholars, Springer Link, Wiley, Science Direct, JSTOR, Emerald full text, Scopus, and EBSCO HOST, etc. The review findings of the study shown that any success or loss of a company mostly depends on the activities and survival of talented employees. The study also found that the retention of employees is one of the challenges that many public and private organisations face, has become an even greater challenge facing human resources professionals because there is a luxury of choice for talented candidates in the global job skills market. At the same time, there is a lack of research emphasizing only on banking industry. The proposed conceptual model depicts the significant effect of working environment and other dimensions of talent management and its effect on employee retention in banking industry.

Approximately 90% of the pharmaceutical inspectors in a pharmacy practice regulatory agency in West Africa have not updated their training on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspection in at least eight years. However, in the last two years the inspectors relied on learning-on-the job skills. During this time, the agency introduced about 17% of its inspectors to hands-on GMP trainings. GMP is the part of quality assurance that ensures the production or manufacture of medicinal products is consistent in order to control the quality standards appropriate for their intended use as required by the specification of the product. Inspection reports on the Agency’s GMP inspection format in-between 2013 to 2019 across the six geopolitical zones in the country were reviewed retrospectively for gap analysis. Sampling was done in two phases. During the first phase sampling of reports was done by random selection, using a stratified sampling method. In the second phase, inspectors from the Regulatory Agency from different regions were contacted on phone to send in four reports each by email. For those that forwarded four reports, two, were selected. However for those who forwarded one or two, all were considered. Also, the Agency’s inspection format/checklist was compared with the World Health Organization (WHO) GMP checklist and the GMP practice observed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reporting skills and the ability of inspectors to interpret findings vis-à-vis their proficiency in inspection activities hence the efficiency of the system. Secondly, the study seeks to establish shortfalls or adequacies of the Agency’s checklist with the aim of reviewing and improving in-line with best global practices. It was observed that different inspectors have different styles and methods of writing reports from the same check-list/inspection format, leading to non-conformances. Interpretations of findings were found to be subjective. However, it was also observed that inspection reports from the few inspectors with the hands-on training in the last two year were more coherent. This indicates that pharmaceutical inspectors need to be trained regularly to increase their knowledge and skills in order to be kept on the same pace. It was also observed that there is a slight deviation in placing sub indicators under the GMP components in the Agency’s GMP inspection format, as compared to the WHO checklist.

Introduction. Middle-aged Koreans are constantly looking for jobs in order to re-employ, despite the insecurity of declining job quality and wage levels. In order to be re-employed, it is necessary to improve job-search skills. As a way to improve job search skills, the focus was on job-seekers' self-esteem and basic vocational competency. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of vocational competency in the effect of self-esteem on job search skills. Study participants and methods. The participants in this study were 357 middle-aged job seekers aged 40 to 64 years old. 56.9% were women, 52.9% were in their 50s and 60s, and 46.2% were college graduates. 69.2% were married and 53.2% lived in small and medium-sized cities. By utilizing SPSS Win. 25.0 and PROCESS macro 3.5, descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and mediating effect were analyzed. Results. First, the higher the self-esteem, the higher the basic vocational competency (r=.438, p<.001) and the job search skills (r=.497, p<.001). The higher the basic vocational competency, the job search skills (r=. 699, p<.001) was high. Second, the effect of self-esteem on job search skills was .516(p<.001), but in the model with additional basic vocational competency, it was reduced to .245(p<.001). Therefore, the mediating effect of basic vocational competency was verified. Practical significance. It was revealed that self-esteem and basic job skills are important to improve the job-search skills of middle-aged adults. Therefore, in order to support customized career design at the national level, it is suggested that vocational education programs should include not only certification courses, but also content for improving basic vocational competency and counseling for improving self-esteem.
