Abstract We have developed a process diagnostics system for photovoltaic energy modules based on standard methods and practices already developed for LSI and MEMS technologies. This paper provides a description of methods used to ensure the conformation of solar cell modules to the rigors of high-quality manufacturing necessary for reliable photovoltaic energy production when exposed to long-term environmental use. We have verified the possibility of inspecting each solar cell and the module assembly in detail for several photovoltaic technologies, specifically monocrystalline Si, polycrystalline Si, and CuInxGa1-xSe2 An objective set of criteria for the quality of each module can be provided by this method for use in module selection by consumers. Moreover, the quality of conformance and reliability data can be used as feedback to the manufacturer to minimize the number of defects created during manufacturing process and ameliorate their effects.

Both external and internal quality of fruits such as tomatoes can be evaluated by different methods, but all most all of the methods are destructive. For this reason, there is a need to reassess some of the alternative techniques. Nondestructive quality evaluation is an attractive alternative. The principles of different nondestructive quality evaluation techniques such as optical, physical, and fluorescence techniques applied to tomato fruit is explained. Successful application of these techniques that could be used for evaluation of different quality attributes are illustrated. The advantages of nondestructive quality evaluation techniques are that they are very fast, easy, labor- and time-intensive, and inexpensive. These techniques could also be useful to evaluate the quality of other vegetables.

Maintenance management is an orderly procedure to address the planning, organization, monitoring and evaluation of maintenance activities and associated costs. The maintenance management allows to have an efficient tool either to the management of the preventive or curative activity, an optimization of the production tool, and finally a follow-up of the costs and the performances. A good maintenance management system can help prevent problems and damages to the operating and storage environment, extend the life of assets, and reduce operating costs. In this paper, we will first present our model on the joint management of spare parts and maintenance. We will do a simulation study of our model, presented in the first section of this paper. The results of this study are presented in the second section through the presentation of the influence of certain parameters of the model on the operation of the system under consideration. This study carried out on the graphical interface of Matlab, which is one of the performance evaluation techniques. It allows to visualize the variations and anomalies which can be reached in the system considered as an overcoming of the repair of the machines by the unforeseen breakdowns.
