In the clothing industry, the understanding of the quality is a major issue to well meet the customer needs. The dilemma that faces manufacturers is to find the balance between good quality and “overquality,” what the quality criteria are, and how to target requirements specifications. The aim of this study was to propose a multi-attribute ranking method of products. Ranking is based on an overall quality score. The quality score, here called consumer-based quality, is computed via the combination of textile testing and consumer perception to deterioration. Such a perception has been surveyed, and damage that can lead to end of life has been investigated. Collected data have been translated into a consumer sensitivity using multi-criteria decision making and fuzzy techniques. The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process has been used. Five damage categories have been weighted. A selection of appropriate tests according to standards has been completed to test the product resistance to the damage. The tests results have been computed with the consumer sensitivity to obtain the consumer-based quality score. Finally, the ranking method is applied on T-shirts, and a single score ranking is made possible and objectively depict perceived quality.

In this paper the ranking method for intuitionistic fuzzy numbers is studied. The authors first define a possibility degree formula to compare two intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. In comparison with Chen and Tan’s score function, the possibility degree formula provides additional information for the comparison of two intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. Based on the possibility degree formula, the authors give a possibility degree method to rank intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, which is used to rank the alternatives in multi-criteria decision making problems.

This paper presents a method for ranking a set of decision making units according to their level of efficiency and which takes into account uncertainty in the data. Efficiency is analysed using fuzzy DEA techniques and the ranking is based on the statistical analysis of cases that include representative situations. The method enables the removal of the sometimes unrealistic hypothesis of a perfect trade-off between increased inputs and outputs. This model is compared with other DEA models that work with imprecise or fuzzy data. As an illustration, we apply our ranking method to the evaluation of a group of Spanish seaports, as well as teams playing in the Spanish football league. We compare the results with other methods and we show that our method enables a total ranking of the seaports, and that the ranking of football teams is found to be more consistent with final league positions.

The Energy Performance of Building Directive obligated all European countries to reduce the energy requirements of buildings while simultaneously improving indoor environment quality. Any such improvements not only enhance the health of the occupants and their productivity, but also provide further economic benefits at the national level. Accomplishing this task requires a method that allows building professionals to resolve conflicts between visual and thermal comfort, energy demands, and life-cycle costs. To overcome these conflicts, this study exploits the incorporation of building information modelling (BIM), the design of experiments as an optimization algorithm, and the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) into a multi-criteria decision-making method. Any such incorporation can (i) create constructive communication between building professionals, such as architects, engineers, and energy experts; (ii) allow the analysis of the performance of multiple construction solutions with respect to visual and thermal comfort, energy demand, and life-cycle costs; and (iii) help to select a trade-off solution, thereby making a suitable decision. Three types of energy-efficient windows, and five types of ground floors, roofs, and external wall constructions were considered as optimization variables. The incorporation of several methods allowed the analysis of the performance of 375 construction solutions based on a combination of optimization variables, and helped to select a trade-off solution. The results showed the strength of incorporation for analyzing big-data through the intelligent use of BIM and a simulation in the field of the built environment, energy, and costs. However, when applying AHP, the results are strongly contingent on pairwise comparisons.

In order to maintain a good standardof any college, the institution should follow paper  based  approach  or  web-based approach  to  gather  student  feedback  on  faculty  teaching to maintain the qualities of the faculty. Students have very much concerned about their teachers who have played a vital role in their life in both outside or inside of the institutions which helps them to justify a teacher and it comes in form of their feedback. In this paper, we introduce a ranking method of the given feedback's factors of teacher's performances with the help of multi-criteria decision making approach using neutrosophic logic.  We  use  the  score   and  accuracy functions  and  the  hybrid  score-accuracy  functions  of single  valued  neutrosophic  numbers  (SVNNs)  and ranking  method  for  SVNNs.

Elasticity in an imprecise requirement needs to be captured to enable the trade-off analysis of conflicting requirements. One of the most important issues in the trade-off analysis of conflicting requirements is to understand their priorities. Requirement analysts need to know not only the relative ordering of requirements based on their importance but also how much a requirement is more important than another requirement in order to achieve an effective trade-off between conflicting requirements. Existing formal methods for requirement engineering are limited in addressing these issues. This paper presents a formal methodology for reasoning about their priority by analyzing the customer’s trade-off preference among imprecise conflicting requirements. The elasticity in imprecise requirements is captured using fuzzy logic. Conflicting and cooperative relationships are classified to detect the conflicts between requirements. Multiple requirements are combined based fuzzy multi-criteria decision making techniques. We have also developed a possibilistic reasoning framework for inferring the lower bound of relative priority from case analysis. Consistency and nonredundancy criteria are established to facilitate the aggregation of possibilistic statement on the lower bounds of relative priority. Finally, we describe a process for transforming the lower bounds of relative priority into weights of importance so that they can be used in the aggregation of conflicting requirements to resolve conflicts.
