O artigo aborda práticas de educação antirracista em escolas públicas do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, com enfoque em atividades realizadas a partir do trabalho com produções literárias de autoras negras. As considerações tecidas resultam de diálogos com uma base teórica que inclui estudos de Nilma Lino Gomes (2012), Eduardo de Assis Duarte (2014), Djamila Ribeiro (2019), Regina Dalcastagnè (2012), Conceição Evaristo (2016, 2020), Aparecida de Jesus Ferreira (2014), Azoilda Loretto da Trindade (2008), dentre outros. Foram destacados dois movimentos de ações circunscritas no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. O primeiro é voltado ao compartilhamento de relato e reflexões sobre uma intervenção literária realizada em projeto desenvolvido e dedicado à educação antirracista, em uma escola pública do ensino fundamental, nos anos finais. O segundo diz respeito às atividades realizadas no âmbito do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID), em uma escola pública de São Gonçalo, com alunos do ensino médio. A partir da análise teórico-metodológica, afere-se que o estudo das produções literárias de autoria feminina negra contribui tanto para a reflexão crítica do sistema racista impregnado na sociedade brasileira, quanto para as potencialidades das identidades negras. Desta forma, espera-se que os relatos das atividades em sala de aula instiguem ações que promovam o debate em torno da literatura afro-brasileira.

This paper is focused on the critical enterprise involved in the translation of Black female authorship from Afro-Caribbean and Latin American contexts into the English language. More specifically, it looks at the circumstances of the translation of the fictional narratives Célanire cou-coupé (2000) by the Guadeloupian Maryse Condé and As mulheres de Tijucopapo (1982) by the Brazilian Marilene Felinto, as well as the publications of the versions in English: Who slashed Celanire’s Throat? (2004) and The Women of Tijucopapo (1994), respectively. We take on a cultural perspective within the field of translation studies and it may be inserted within the theoretical and descriptive branch, being product-process oriented. From general cultural social theories, we draw on the works of Black female intellectuals, Lélia Gonzalez, Patricia Hill-Collins, Denise Carrascosa, and many others, in dialogue with the perspectives of cultural theorists from translation studies, André Lefevere, Lawrence Venuti, and others. Based on the models of descriptive analysis within this field by Gideon Toury and others, we propose a description of the translation (process and product) of Condé’s and Felinto’s novels.

Este artigo tem como foco uma análise do texto “A mulher e a arte” (sem data), da escritora carioca Júlia Lopes de Almeida (1862-1934). Este escrito, recém-publicado na íntegra pela primeira vez, em revista acadêmica, constitui uma conferência da autora na qual ela expõe suas opiniões sobre o tema da arte de autoria feminina, tecendo uma série de críticas de cunho feminista à desigualdade entre os gêneros no espaço da criação artística. Em seu texto, a literata cita diversos nomes de artistas e intelectuais mulheres, de modo a sustentar seu argumento em defesa da potência criativa feminina e assinalar a importância da transformação da cultura patriarcal. Assim, a partir do olhar historiográfico e embasados pela epistemologia feminista, buscamos ressaltar a conferência como fundamental para o estudo da escrita de autoria feminina e feminista no Brasil entre os séculos XIX e XX.Palavras-chave: Júlia Lopes de Almeida. Literatura. Feminismo. AbstractThis article focuses on an analysis of the text “The woman and the art” (undated), by the writer Júlia Lopes de Almeida (1862-1934), from Rio de Janeiro. This writing, recently published in full for the first time, constitutes a conference in which the author exposes her opinions on the theme of art of female authorship, weaving a series of feminist criticisms of the inequality between genders in the space of artistic creation. In her text, Júlia lists several names of artists and women intellectuals, in order to support her argument in defense of the feminine creative power and point out the importance of the transformation of patriarchal culture. Thus, from the historiographic perspective and based on feminist epistemology, we seek to emphasize the conference as fundamental for the study of female and feminist writing feminists in Brazil between the 19th and 20th centuries.Keywords: Júlia Lopes de Almeida.
