The abrupt transition to online education in 2020 was not successful in the field of physical education due to unsatisfactory conditions of private premises for specialized sports (such as swimming, etc.), ban for practical classes without the supervision of a specialist due to safety rules, lack of sports equipment in private apartments, lack of provision of Ukrainian families with computers and telephones of the new generation or in sufficient quantities, lack of Internet access in 35% of families, inability to use sports facilities even for teachers for shooting video lessons, and etc. The article analyzes the results of the introduction of online education in the field of physical education of students of universities of Ukraine on the example of Donbas State Pedagogical University in sports and pedagogical disciplines and offers recommendations for compensation of these problems: state planning and support (economically, legislatively, and at the level of educational services), organization of conferences for analysis of scientifically sound proportions of hybrid education for each of sports and pedagogical disciplines, development of curricula and media platforms with multimedia recordings, and formation of state standard databases of each discipline.

BackgroundIn their professional practice, teachers can exert a strong influence on students, promoting healthy habits for life through the example of their own lifestyle. The aim of this study was to compare sports habits and attitudes in Physical Activity and Sports Education students at the universities of León (Spain) and Mostaganem (Algeria).MethodsWe administered the “Motivations and Attitudes Toward Physical Activity and Sports” questionnaire (in Spanish MIAFD) to 125 Algerian university students from the Institute for Physical Education and Sport (age: 21.87 ± 2.51) and 122 Spanish university students (age: 22.98 ± 2.36) from the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Science.ResultsChi-square tests showed significant differences (p < 0.001) with a large effect size (Cramer’s V: 0.650) in perceptions of sport and satisfaction with participation.ConclusionThe students from Mostaganem and Leon show many similarities, such as the number of female students in physical education and sport is quite small compared to male students. Both consider that universities should improve sports facilities to promote good practice. The practice of sports by our university students is far superior to that of students with other degrees, suggesting that they will set a good example of healthy habits once they enter their profession. Nevertheless, the participation of female Algerian students in sport was lower than that of Spanish students, and students at León showed more intrinsic motivation for participating in sport than their counterparts at Mostaganem.

Students with disabilities around the world are leaving special schools and special classes and are receiving their education in general education schools. In addition to attending general education classes, these students with disabilities are attending general physical education classes. Unfortunately, research has clearly demonstrated that physical educators do not feel prepared to include students with disabilities into their general physical education classes. Such findings are not surprising given that the typical physical education teacher education program in the United States only requires one course in adapted physical education, and in many countries around the world not even one adapted physical education course is required. However, many physical education teacher education programs do not have the space to add more adapted physical education classes, and other universities do not have professors with specialized knowledge to teach adapted physical education. What can be done to better prepare future and current physical educators? Online education is a relatively new method for delivering information about disability in general and more specifically how to include students with disabilities into general physical activities. The purpose of this paper is to introduce online education and present preliminary research that supports the use of online training with physical educators.
