In this work, the interval generalized coupled matrix equations \begin{equation*} \sum_{j=1}^{p}{{\bf{A}}_{ij}X_{j}}+\sum_{k=1}^{q}{Y_{k}{\bf{B}}_{ik}}={\bf{C}}_{i}, \qquad i=1,\ldots,p+q, \end{equation*} are studied in which ${\bf{A}}_{ij}$, ${\bf{B}}_{ik}$ and ${\bf{C}}_{i}$ are known real interval matrices, while $X_{j}$ and $Y_{k}$ are the unknown matrices for $j=1,\ldots,p$, $k=1,\ldots,q$ and $i=1,\ldots,p+q$. This paper discusses the so-called AE-solution sets for this system. In these types of solution sets, the elements of the involved interval matrices are quantified and all occurrences of the universal quantifier $\forall$ (if any) precede the occurrences of the existential quantifier $\exists$. The AE-solution sets are characterized and some sufficient conditions under which these types of solution sets are bounded are given. Also some approaches are proposed which include a numerical technique and an algebraic approach for enclosing some types of the AE-solution sets.

We generalized some criteria of boundedness of $\mathbf{L}$-index in joint variables for analytic in a bidisc functions, where $\mathbf{L}(z)=(l_1(z_1,z_2),$ $l_{2}(z_1,z_2)),$ $l_j:\mathbb{D}^2\to \mathbb{R}_+$ is a continuous function, $j\in\{1,2\},$ $\mathbb{D}^2$ is a bidisc $\{(z_1,z_2)\in\mathbb{C}^2: |z_1|<1,|z_2|<1\}.$ The propositions describe a behaviour of power series expansion on a skeleton of a bidisc. We estimated power series expansion by a dominating homogeneous polynomial with the degree that does not exceed some number depending only from radii of bidisc. Replacing universal quantifier by existential quantifier for radii of bidisc, we also proved sufficient conditions of boundedness of $\mathbf{L}$-index in joint variables for analytic functions which are weaker than necessary conditions.

We discuss the delay-independent asymptotic stability of Caputo type fractional-order neutral differential systems with multiple discrete delays. Based on the algebraic approach and matrix theory, the sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the asymptotic stability for all time-delay parameters. By applying the stability criteria, one can avoid solving the roots of transcendental equations. The results obtained are computationally flexible and convenient. Moreover, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed theoretical results.

We in this paper give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the general solution to the system of matrix equations [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] over the quaternion algebra ℍ, and present an expression of the general solution to this system when it is solvable. Using the results, we give some necessary and sufficient conditions for the system of matrix equations [Formula: see text] over ℍ to have a reducible solution as well as the representation of such solution to the system when the consistency conditions are met. A numerical example is also given to illustrate our results. As another application, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for two associated electronic networks to have the same branch current and branch voltage and give the expressions of the same branch current and branch voltage when the conditions are satisfied.

We use the notions of left- and right-complete quasi- b -metric spaces and partial ordered sets to obtain a couple of common fixed-point results for strictly weakly isotone increasing mappings and relatively weakly increasing mappings, which satisfy a pair of almost generalized contractive conditions. To illustrate our results, throughout the paper, we give several relevant examples. Further, we use our results to establish sufficient conditions for existence and uniqueness of solution of a system of nonlinear matrix equations and a pair of fractional differential equations. Finally, we provide a nontrivial example to validate the sufficient conditions for nonlinear matrix equations with numerical approximations.

Hamiltonian matrices have many applications to design automation and autocontrol, in particular in the linear-quadratic autocontrol problem. This paper studies the inverse problems of generalized Hamiltonian matrices for matrix equations. By real representation of complex matrix, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a Hermitian generalized Hamiltonian solutions to the matrix equations, and then derive the representation of the general solutions.

This paper is devoted to study the Painlevé–Kuratowski convergence of solution sets for perturbed symmetric set-valued quasi-equilibrium problems (SSQEP)[Formula: see text] via improvement sets. By virtue of the oriented distance function, the sufficient conditions of Painlevé–Kuratowski convergence of efficient solution sets for (SSQEP)[Formula: see text] are obtained through a new nonlinear scalarization technical. Then, under [Formula: see text]-convergence of set-valued mappings, the Painlevé–Kuratowski convergence of weak efficient solution sets for (SSQEP)[Formula: see text] is discussed. What’s more, with suitable convergence assumptions, we also establish the sufficient conditions of lower Painlevé–Kuratowski convergence of Borwein proper efficient solution sets for (SSQEP)[Formula: see text] under improvement sets. Some interesting examples are formulated to illustrate the significance of the main results.

AbstractWe give necessary conditions for a set to be definable by a formula with a universal quantifier and an existential quantifier over algebraic integer rings or algebraic number fields. From these necessary conditions we obtain some undefinability results. For example, N is not definable by such a formula over Z. This extends a previous result of R. M. Robinson.
