Onions Allium L. are promising economically valuable plants of Kazakhstan’s flora which are found almosteverywhere and distinguished by a large species diversity. In the Tien Shan mountains genus Allium is represented by 56Tien Shan endemics and 25 of which grow in Kazakhstan. Five new endemic species are described in 2021 for Kazakhstan’sflora. The results included analysis of the state of studied Kazakhstan’s species of this genus where were determined speciescomposition and status, degree of introduction research, application and prospects of 134 species of onions of Kazakhstan’sflora including 47 endemic and 12 rare species. Almost half of onions have been tested in culture including 15 endemicand 8 rare species. Introduction studies on decorative, food, medicinal and melliferous properties was relatively high. Incurrent time, the collection of Kazakhstan natural flora is represented by 16 species of onions.

The article provides a review of studies of the vegetation cover of the Western Tien Shan of the NorthEastern slope of the Kurama ridge of the Parkent district (the left bank of Parkentsai) with the participation of the rare endemic species Juno orchioides. The article presents the main results of work in the field of geobotany and botanical geography carried out in the Tashkent region. A list of plants of 4 communities of the herb-shrub association with the participation of the species Juno orchioides is given. The association contains more than 90 species of plants. Of these, trees – 10, shrubs – 9, perennials – 71, annuals – 8. Anthropogenic factors and grazing are the reason for the decrease in this species of Juno orchioides, and in the future, measures for reintroduction must be applied to preserve and restore this species.

Abstract Glaciers in the Tien Shan mountains contribute considerably to the fresh water used for irrigation, households and energy supply in the dry lowland areas of Kyrgyzstan and its neighbouring countries. To date, reconstructions of the current ice volume and ice thickness distribution remain scarce, and accurate data are largely lacking at the local scale. Here, we present a detailed ice thickness distribution of Ashu-Tor, Bordu, Golubin and Kara-Batkak glaciers derived from radio-echo sounding measurements and modelling. All the ice thickness measurements are used to calibrate three individual models to estimate the ice thickness in inaccessible areas. A cross-validation between modelled and measured ice thickness for a subset of the data is performed to attribute a weight to every model and to assemble a final composite ice thickness distribution for every glacier. Results reveal the thickest ice on Ashu-Tor glacier with values up to 201 ± 12 m. The ice thickness measurements and distributions are also compared with estimates composed without the use of in situ data. These estimates approach the total ice volume well, but local ice thicknesses vary substantially.

The results of the first study of the species diversity of myxomycetes of the Rdeysky State Nature Reserve are presented. The 201 field specimens of sporophores belonging to 56 morphospecies from 27 genera, ten families, and six orders were collected from September 30 to October 5, 2020. Fifty-two species of these were new for the Novgorod Region. The most common species at the reserve were Arcyria affinis, Hemitrichia calyculata, Lycogala epidendrum, Metatrichia vesparia, Physarum album, Trichia decipiens, and T. varia. Additionally, detailed morphological descriptions of two rare species Amaurochaete trechispora and Trichia crateriformis are given.

The seasonal snow cover in the Tien Shan mountains is characterized by low density, low liquid-water content and low temperature. It is known as typical dry snow. Large temperature gradients in the basal layer of the snow cover exist throughout the entire period of snow accumulation, and depth hoar is therefore extremely well-developed. Full-depth depth-hoar avalanches, however, seldom occur. Avalanches in the Tien Shan mountains are mostly loose snow avalanches. Although normally not large in size, they are the most dangerous type. The occurrence of hazardous avalanches shows cycles of about ten years because of periodic climatic variations.

During 2015–2106 the macrozoobenthos under the clam farm located in the area of Sevastopol was investigated. The aim of the study is to consider species composition, density and biomass of macrozoobenthos in the area of the clam farm. The samples were taken using standard benthic techniques. Relatively low species diversity was observed, with 56 species of macrozoobenthos identified. The density was 500–975 ind. per m², the biomass varied from 0.8 to 381.1 g·m-2. The community of the bivalve mollusk Lucinella divaricata (Linnaeus, 1758) was found. Trophic structure of the community with high quantity of detritus feeders dominated by small polychaetes was determined. The dominating, typical and rare species were identified. Comparison with the data obtained in 1957 in Evpatoriya – Sevastopol area at the same depths and sediments was made.

Wild plants form the basis of biological resources both for Georgia and the whole world. A strategic task of any country is to preserve the biological diversity of plants. In the territory of Ajara, a large species diversity of plants grows, among which there are rare, endemic and relict plants. In particular, Cyclamen adzharicum. Modern systematics of wild plants in Georgia is based on classical methods of botany. In this regard, it is relevant to conduct genetic studies of species diversity and genetic polymorphism of species and populations using molecular genetic markers, in particular RAPD-PCR methods. The purpose of this study was to identify genetic polymorphism in Cyclamen L species using RAPD methods. As a result of the conducted research the 65 RAPD-markers in length from 150 to 1500 BP have been revealed. The number of the amplified fragments DNA varied depending on the primer from 6 (OPA-2) to 11 (OPB-4). The results of grouping Cyclamen adzharicum and C. coum samples allowed two clusters to be identified. In the first cluster were samples of three populations Cyclamen adzharicum and showed a low stubble in the intra-species variability. Cyclamen coum was attributed to the second cluster. The used primers gave the opportunity to identify polymorphism between the tested types of cyclamen.
